Gave his boots to a young fan with cerebral palsy in the stands yesterday right in front of me. His whole family crying, was a touching moment- the kid was a passionate sharks fan absolutely loving the game. This is what rugby league is about.

Would be absolutely ridiculous if suspended for that. Watch it in normal motion, nothing wrong with it.

Looked really good last night, need that every week.

got off but that is a huge no no

dont attack the legs of a stationary person
Think 'attack' is the problem. There's a lot of subjectivity between wrapping up legs to bring someone down and complete a tackle versus looking like you're trying to tear a frothing rottweiler off a small child

Also the “3rd man in”
I think this is more what they want to stop.
2 holding up and way at the legs.
But BHU’s was neither dangerous or reckless so it’s good it didn’t progress

Name of penalty is dumb, you’re allowed three people in a tackle.

If two guys up top are securing the ball and wrestling it can be hard to bring the guy down if he wants to try keep running so third man has to tackle the legs.

Third man in does not need to throw his whole body weight into the knee though.

Being the third man in to a tackle should not be a punishable offence, but you need to control how you perform it.

A second or fourth man could also make a low tackle

The refs need to shoulder a lot of the blame. They're quite happy to let two defenders and the ball carrier dance around for five minutes before calling held. Defenders don't have much option but to go for the legs to kill the play. Seems like they're under instructions to allow the attacker the chance to offload and get some exciting second phase play going.

It's a chicken/egg problem because the defenders have to wrap up the ball to stop offloads, so they're not performing the sort of tackle that'll take down a forward.

I thought we were lucky with one tackle tbh. Seemed a bit of a grubby one (passion if it’s us doing it)

Think it was BHU. Two men were in the tackle and he bulldozed straight into his back. Love it, but surprised it wasn’t pulled up

The top offloaders still manage plays through two-three wrestlers. If you didn't get a couple guys up top quickly every tackle (except dominant ones) would be a chance for an offload. Refs definitely let some plays run too long with player on their feet which risks someone trying to bring them down.

He got penalised but not charged for the third man in but I think you're right we did have someone try and take a cheap shot at an exposed back/side, can't remember if it was him but may have been.

TBH that's part of the game, if you get held up with some rib exposed someone might try and put a shoulder in it. It's pretty rare it actually comes off with much force as usually a small window and tackle moving around. Slamming forcefully into an incomplete tackle seems to injure your own players way more often than opposition.

Probably worse you risk there to tackled player is a rib injury which isn't ideal but not same level as a significant knee injury, and low odds of occurring.
It's aggressive and you're asking for some aggressive treatment back but I'm okay with it.
