I was more meaning like if a back/half got injured (legally) and you had to use an interchange.

But I also don't hate the tactic from Qld if chasing points throwing Walsh out there... you'd probably put him to Fullback and bring KP forward though which is kind of disruptive. I like it a bit better with a Dearden Munny halves pairing - with Walker already being a bit more creative it could be too many cooks in the kitchen.

Mclean on for Koula was the free interchange. If Koula had passed he comes back on and McLean goes off, unless we use an interchange.

If you don't need to use it though (because you have a true 80 minute hooker), surely it's better to have it available?

If you are giving yourself a spare interchange... imagine a world where say Staggs was hooked early for McLean or Burton. After two tries against us we clearly needed something to change. But I'm pretty sure Laurie isn't going to readjust his strategy on the fly to that extent!

Plenty of Qld success came starting Hunt and bringing true 80 minute hooker Harry Grant off the pine.
So I think there's a genuine argument at SOO level it is a good tactic to have two good hookers and use them both, rather than wear one out to save an interchange.

While he definitely has more in the tank than was asked of him, a pretty fresh Blayke made a big contribution to the Blues run against 12 men.

I think you can go either way with this one, depending on who you have access too. Especially as you say, a hooking would be very unlikely.

Horses for courses. I don't know that anyone thought Cam Smith ever needed a rest, he just had that motor. And the game isn't any faster today... ;)

Still, better for us is Blayke only plays 30-40 SOO minutes. Everyone's happy (except one...)

But also if Laurie let me in to make some tweaks there's a few things I'd be trying to fix before worrying about that rotation

I'd be surprised if he didn't. I'd let you have a crack.

Still, I don't think Laurie and the team (and you, if have any sense) will run out of time addressing other areas and have to shelve reviewing their hookers :)

I worry reviewing hookers is already taking up too much of their time
It can't be watching NRL if 'Jackson Ford can't cover backrow' and selecting Casey Maguire are key selection notes

Blayke was good. Honestly NSW had too many small middles picked. For me Robson is only worth it if he plays some time at lock.

Murray.

Also Murray is the better lock than Yeo.

A two hooker rotation is probably the only time the passes stat is useful. Just not to measure player performance.

It tells us that NSW had a similar amount of possession outside their own 30 in Blake’s time on the field as they did in Reece’s. That’s useful information.

The thing the passes stat gets raised most often for (to compare Hynes and Trindall’s involvement) is useless because it includes dummy half passes, one pass plays from penalty taps and other such things. Ditto for total touches.

Yeah agree useful for that, not useful for how either hooker performed I guess was were I was coming from.
