Official Blayke Brailey

To be fair, when he was saying it Brailey was playing very mediocre, then something clicked and his game has been lights out.

No doubt he's improved. But for me, he's gone from good to great. I don't the level of criticism he got was close to fair at the time.

People were talking about wanting him dropped for Berrell at some points...

Snowy also said that Munster was never gunna be more than a club player

Ha ha I miss the big lug

Tbf Brailey was kinda a frustrating player until this season, always showed glimpses of his true ability in the past but seemed to be holding himself back most weeks
Brailey was the exact same player minus like probably average 1-2 runs a game. Minus like 4 vs his best couple games this season.
Yes those runs are impactful and have taken him to another level, and yes it was frustrating he didn't do it more earlier.
But those extra couple of runs didn't take him from awful (cabbage) to great.
He probably got out of hooker nearly as often but just took the line on a bit more often this season, rather than look to a pass.

Averaged 52.6 after the first 5 weeks of the season (which were all 20-31m), which is a bit more of a jump from 45 but still not immensely, about another 1-2 effective/impactful runs a game on average.
His other elements like consistently getting to hooker, few pass errors, massive tackle volume and own ability to string together big minutes and games were all elite already.

Also worth mentioning that many of us who defended him referenced how he is more effective and runs more when we win the ruck.

Low and behold his best season comes on the back of playing every game alongside AFB.

His fundamentals were always solid, yet if he wasn't running out of dummy half like he has this season no one is faffing on about him (including the media)

From the naked eye, his runs this year (starting mid way through) have been far more impactful and meaniful than ever before.

In the past, he seemed to run into the markers to try and get a penalty.

Now he scoops the ball up in one hand and is off through a half gap before you know it!

He used to run then stop and look for a support player then concede the tackle

He finally learnt that the support will not be there so he may as well just keep running

So happy for Brailey, I was so happy when I saw him named in the Australia squad. He may not get a run in the 17 but it will be a fantastic experience for him to learn so much off Harry Grant & a few other experienced regular players.

Kevin Walters may be a good coach for the Kangaroos, he left out a few regular players & gave a few new younger players a go to get some experience from other regular players.

Yeah be good if he gets a run but either way the experience will be great, and if he doesn't play atleast there's no risk of injury
