Re-watching the game, I thought he was outstanding other than the dropped ball close to the line (which should have been an offside penalty).

Not sure what game people are watching if they were whinging about him not running or engaging the ruck in this one. He made a 20m scoot at one stage, plus engaged the markers and found a runner on at least 5-6 other occasions for 15-20 metre carries. He was also involved in the Trindall try, and caught the markers offside 5 separate times during the game but only got a call from the ref twice.

I though the Sharks forwards did a decent job in this one of pushing up in support; Rudolf in particular. He had a few really strong runs from Brailey getting on the front foot and then finding him late.

I'm incredibly upset at the wasted set of crash plays on south's line.

I'm not on the hate bandwagon with some others but that was putrid and I'm tired of seeing it.

That’s not on Brailey though. The decision to play a set like that would be on Fitz. It’s similar to “this halfback is no good because he kicks it to the same winger all the time”. 100% something that was in the game plan.

Not a wasted set btw. You run a set like that because you are hoping next time those close in defenders cheat on the crash play and you can make space on the edges.

Everyone always hates the low upside set up work
Crash play, inside ball, late set hit up, getting tackled on the last in a corner instead of kicking in goal
Yet every team has done these things* since the NRL began for a reason

But you make it a lot harder to get the reward if you don't do the set up to earn it

*well, the tackle in corner is a bit more popular now than before the 7 tackle set was introduced

That late in the game and after BHU has just made a break? The ball needed to go out to the right edge then not later.

Terrible game again tonight. Not fit to lace Reed Mahoney's boots or my grandmother's.
Let in at least two tries, nowhere to be found when Sivo trampled Katoa and did you guys see his lazy stroll when Kennedy scored his second try? Disgusting lack of involvement.
On top of that, no try assist, no linebreak, outplayed by Hogdson who's old enough to be his grandfather... and the list goes on and on. Week after week after week... He clearly isn't first grade material.

Not to mention that I always get him confused with Moylan on TV.

It's about time Fitz gives one of the other Brailey brothers a go.

He had 1 tackle bust to Hogdsons 0, he made 46 tackles and missed 1, Hodgson made 44 tackles and missed 8. He actually ran the ball and was credited with 7 hitups, Hodgson had 0 runs. Brailey made 1 error compared to Hodgson's 2.

I meant to take the piss out of the haters' brigade, but thanks for the stats all the same. ;)

Didn't kick a field goal or shout me dinner either

Can those things be done independently, or must one follow the other?

If I want to buy you dinner, do I have to kick a field goal first?

Conversely, does anyone who kicks a field goal have to buy you dinner?
