He’s boring - I don’t get him.

What are you in the team for ? How many years do you have to wait before you decide to pull you finger out

I appreciate he is still young and in playing in tough position but he needs to bring more to his game , can't just be a facilitator between the forwards and the backs . Doesn't use his kicking game or running game nearly enough , maybe needs some serious competition .
You'll see a lot more from Blayke as Nicho gets more confident as a 7 I reckon. Right now it's Nicho-ball - if he's not touching it 3-4 times a set we're deviating off the game plan. The only problem is that Nicho isn't sure where to pop up at times. You see Blayke looking around for him pretty regularly

He needs to start looking for himself more and thinking he needs to do something different than just passing .

I agree, but he can't go rogue either. Nicho touches the ball a lot, and that's the plan. It's Blayke's job to give it to him.
Nicho getting the hang of his role, some support play and a bit more licence to pick the play and you'll see a lot more from Blayke, I've no doubt

Don't want him to go rogue but he needs to kick and run more so we aren't so one dimensional around the ruck , when he does we look so much better .

Need to bring in a specialist coach to work with him next year. I want the telegraphed crash play gone from his playbook by rd 1.

Cam Smith is on the record as being a huge fan of Blayke, convince him to do some sessions with the kid or bring Ennis back into the fold.

Simon Bonetti type's might have been good enough to win 20 years ago but not anymore.

like any hooker needs forwards breaking the line to be effective and we didn’t have that last night,
I like the idea of getting Ennis in to work with the guy

Just saying that it's a conversation moreso to have with Fitz rather than Blayke.
The reason we all get frustrated with the way Blayke is used is that he's actually pretty bloody good at kicking and running and we don't get to see it much. I feel the same, I just don't blame him for doing the job he's given and helping Nicho do his (which is all the jobs!)

You don’t win premierships going one out to a prop on the oppositions line

Show me a single other team still alive in the 2022 NRL who would even attempt one

Remember that Blayke has played every minute (apart from when sin binned) of every game this year.

Probably exhausted.

I know he isn’t big and a low % play but he never went for the dummy half crash over play.

he didnt do much at all this year but people thought he was good because he made a heap of tackles and ran every now and then

fact is, his passing was **** in the back half of the year, it was the kind of service you expect from a 1 star restaurant, and he didnt kick

his decision making is also really bad

He's frustrating for sure. Seems to have all the tools but rarely gets them out of the bag.

Next year needs to be his breakout, for his sake and ours.

Blake was one of the best 9's in the comp this year, just lacks big game experience. He will get better as the year goes on. Go back and actually watch the games.
