If it was me, I'd want the best opportunity to play regular first grade. You need to be in the shop window.
I understand that there are benefits to playing under a top rated coach at a strong club, but it's not much good to you if you spend the year playing reserve grade. I particularly wouldn't want to be stuck behind topline players, that's for sure. In reality, there isn't really that much difference in playing for a "top club" or a "bottom club" in a salary capped league. If it was like the English Premier League, fair enough. But in a close competition like this, there really is opportunity for players to go to the weaker clubs and make a solid contribution towards winning games. It's an added bonus that the "weaker clubs" are most probably going to end up paying you more for your services as well.
