Official Billy Burns

Burns has been great in the middle too. I’d rather Nikora AND Burns in the lineup over Burns and Kaufusi / a rookie, or Burns and anyone you can get on a one year deal.

Moving on Nikora and signing an equivalent middle on a multi-year deal to replace him will not save money and it leaves them with no experienced second row depth. They could sign a depth middle AND a depth second rower but that’s not improving the 17.

I agree with the first part. Although I am intrigued about signing a Death Middle. Sounds intimidating.

Haha yeah will send him out to bite the heads off some bats Ozzy style in the warm up.
Maybe some seagulls on a Sunday Arvo at home instead.

But on topic, if Nikora has 1 year left, it would be silly to push him out unless there was someone you could bring in that improved the squad.

The immediate answer people will come up with is Leota, but I don't think it would be close to worth being saddled with an aging prop contract long term.

I'd be pretty confident coping with depth from 2028 and beyond thought if we keep Hassett and get Lavender on the books. Gives us a bit of time to plan how to allocate that money.

Would let Briton and Oregan go, makes decent cap space. Re-sign Teig, and use reserve graders as second row depth, like Lavender if we can keep him.
Get a fullback if Will leaves or a half if Tricky or Nicho leave a yr or two early

I think plenty of us want a stud FB but I'm still not sure who our FB is if Will leaves, any ideas?

I would really like to see this next season with Cam, Talakai etc all leaving.

8. AFB
9. Brailey
10. Colquhoon
11. Nikora
12. Wilton
13. Burns

Really think burns would excel playing that middle role for us full time.

Thoughts on this starting pack?
It won’t happen this season whilst McInnes is here but for 2027
AFB
BB
Jess
Teig
Brit
Billy

Pep as our 14

Read his post history HB, he's probably mentally transferred us a dozen fullbacks over the past season and a half.
Anyone with half a good game gets an 'X to sharks'

Yeah I reckon the smart money is on this for round 1 unless they sign someone or Trout can mussel his way in.

Nowhere yet, but everyone seems to be keen to push him out the door.
Box seat for his 3rd Sharks Forever Player of the Year in 6 seasons, with a 2nd in there too
And you could probably still find someone who'd like to see us take a chance on Chevy Stewart (or the like) because we need X factor.

Now we've pushed out BHU finally, just push out Nikora and Kaufusi, and don't keep that wage stealing Rudolf. Then just sign the star player I want from a side who has him on contract.
Even better than push out is when it is 'sell'
