Dear sharksforever.com,
A couple weeks ago I received a pm from Gil asking how my merchandise stack over here was and did I manage to get any team posters?
I replied no and he said he had a few knocking around and if I gave my address he'd send them over.
I thanked him, told him I'd fix him up for postage.
A couple weeks later, the offer for postage completely refused, I received a tube from Gil that contained heaps of team 'Desire' posters and a heap of stickers as well.
My stocks of caps, shirts and stationery packs had all but dwindled and this was a thankfully received.
I opened it in front of the students and their mouths dropped, one poster immediately on the wall, one gratefully received by a youngster who I'd promised something to next term after I'd been back to Aus, and the rest put on my desk.
Last week I was in Suva and saw one of my girls proudly wearing a cap and yesterday one of the stickers I'd given to a young boy was on the bumper of his mum's car!
I don't think I've ever met Gil (maybe once last year or the year before at a Rabbits game at Shark Park) but he has made a heap of kids very motivated!
Thanks mate.
I have photos but am reluctant to post them but I assure you the smiles are huge.
