Not sure if the opportunity just went away because he got hurt and might pop back up with more money now.

He won't get a new contract with us after this year regardless and has said he'd like to play in England one day.

Still seems realistic to me from info I've seen especially if Merrin leaving means they can up their offer a bit.
3 years on more money than he's ever been paid in the NRL - if he wants to play in England one day now is a great time!

There was an article about a month ago with direct quotes from him. Sounded as though he was struggling with the concept of moving because of his young daughter.

I guess things may have changed since then though.

Yeah he did say he was unsure but also has said he'd like to play there one day.
If Merrin going opens up extra money it might be enough incentive.

It's still a big decision to move internationally for say three to five years but for a significant paycheck that could help set his family up quite nicely once he retires from footy.

If he hadn't said it was something he wanted to do one day I'd have dropped it by now haha
