THey say careers are short. But Dougie could retire at 28 having played more games than most ever will. Bloke will easily be a 300 game man. Probably be the youngest to achieve it too

Changing the subject on the Sharks players & their bans, I wonder what Essendon players might get?

This will surely split the players from the club (offered 6 months but includes finals). Essendon is full of crazy bastards and those in charge will fight it until they get two year bans. I can't see the players being that stupid.

Roy Masters reckons that Essendon have been offered the 6 months deal as well. I posted the story a couple of pages back. Although I heard someone from Essendon on the radio this morning denying that they had been offered anything.

'most people'. Athletes arent most people. This slip up could have cost most of them careers, or huge chunks of money in their careers. They have all really been let off with a slap on the wrist. THis isnt like oh i was at a party and everyone had a joint so i did too.

If some **** with an esky full of drugs is injecting you in the sponsors lounge, then you are either stupid to let it happen, or stupid to not ask some serious questions. Obviously all our guys did neither. So are rendered stupid.

Agree, but if you're a fresh 19-20 year old in your first or second year in the NRL and you see the rest of the team doing something, you'd probably assume that it was ok. Especially if it's the guy from the club that gives you all your usual supplements.

this is a good thing IMO as it meas it will be back to "business as usual"next year - no ASADA cloud hanging over the players heads (might not be able to say same thing about coaches but 2015 is another year and it wil be great players can focus on playing footy and not ASADA!

I totally understand them taking the deal as now they still have their careers ahead of them and I totally understand why Betsy is fighting on and good on him......Morris is the confusing one, surely he would be better off moving on in life with a clean slate.
