Two separate things are happening - one is the show cause letters which they have 10 days to respond - the other is an offer to assist ASADA with their investigation and receive a reduced sanction. That is what they have till the weekend to decide.

5??

Gallen, Graham, Gardner, Tupou are the 4 that are usually mentioned, who would the 5th be?

Vave??, Leutele???

Tagataese and Leutele were both here then but I think Taga came after it happened.I think I remember reading that anyway. It's all becoming a blur.

good on the Sharks to release something, I'm sure they cant say to much but at least it looks like they are keeping the supporters in the loop.

There's no way in hell they will all cop it on the chin.

Would also mean giving up someone up the chain, Coach/Footy Admin

It could be a pretty compelling deal... and does not involve rolling over.

in the DT it reported 4 shark players got Show cause notice,

Can't stand Paul Kent, but for sheer amusement factor I can't wait to see what he has to say tonight ( after I've had a couple of rum's to lower the blood pressure ).... He'll be pulling out all stops to try and get a lead on this one - just so he can give himself a wrap later. Lol

The players are - Paul Gallen, Wade Graham, Nathan Gardner, Anthony Tupou, John Morris (still contracted this year)

According to the Tele they have all been offered a chance to admit guilt and be given a 1 year sentence backdated to November 1st last year. Meaning they could all start pre-season.

If true and the players don't take this they can get stuffed and I hope they cop 2 years. Seriously its like getting no suspension at all.

Yes, because I'm sure that constitutes substantial assistance...
In my opinion Flanno is a dead man walking. Even if the players don't roll ASADA will send him a letter next and he will get the full 4 years cause he can't blame anyone else.

Same as Elkin and probably Noakes. Not sure about Mooney and the Doc but I imagine they will also get a delivery soon too.

Provided that by accepting this deal there is no chance WADA could come over the top and that it was 100% bullet proof then yes, i'd be disappointed if players didn't take the deal.

I believe that the current feeling amost their peers and the general population is that they've been hoodwinked and that their culpability is quite minor (whether you honestly believe this or not). With this in mind, i'd suggest that the damage to their reputation is not as they'd claim it.

Fighting to clear your name and going down, would have a much larger effect on your reputation.

Agree with it all - I make one point WADA appealing does not mean WADA would win. They have appealed before and lost and it has not affected Australian sport (as is constantly reported it would). I don't think the players would need to worry about WADA affecting the ban.
