Probably because he doesn't want to leave the cowboys.

We also have a thing called a salary cap and to be completely honest, given how **** Newcastle has been playing, it will probably lower the cost of the Sims boys and i would take those 2 and then focus on retention.

He isn't the kind of bloke to make this stuff up and he seemed pretty pissed off over it.
Apparently has something to do with Gal playing next year and Titans have offered him the captaincy.

You would also have to question why the club would tell a sponsor that info.
I'd also suggest that the club would say no to Gal for next year if it meant losing our next long term skipper in Wade.

Yes but next year will be our 50th season. Penrith are doing their 50th stuff this year and we will do ours next year. They didn't want to have us and them doing it on the same year, give each club their own season.
