I tend to agree, I know he had a lot of hype & people that are high profile rate him but I cant help but think maybe they jumped on the bandwagon a bit about how good he actually is.

I cant really say on what he showed us last year & I admit it wasn't a lot of game time but he didn't stand out for me from what I saw, who knows, maybe in a year or two I might be cursing the sharks for letting him go or not offering enough $ to keep him as he might be killing it.

One thing I do know is the heat or attention will really be on him this season as he will more than likely start or be viewed as the dogs number one 9 & with all the hoo ha about him plus his dad being vocal in the media last year he needs to produce otherwise the dogs fans & media will be all over him.

yeah but he went for what 350,000. If he stayed here for that, and he needed a babysitter for half the game, or if he was a flop for that contract then we've really lost out. Regardless of where he goes in the future or how good he will be, if 2014 was anything to go by, he needs to invest every cent he earns at the dogs as thats the most he'll earn. Cant go offering huge contracts out so you have them in 3-4 years time when they may be good, youll still be fighting the rest of the comp for his signature regardless. Let Des develop him in first grade. Unfortunately you can only learn so much as an under 20s hooker, i think its a position only time in first grade can help you develop in.

I think he had a lot of tickets out on him from a young age. To be honest I didn't see anything that I think would bother us with him going. He has talent for sure but I think there is a lot of hype. Hope he does well though seems like a nice enough bloke

I just hope we have a plan for post-ennis
brown will be putting pressure by the end of ennis' contract for the starting spot. He will be a gun, lightning out of hooker in the nines last year can't wait to see him there on saturday

Lichaa has gone. No loss. Got offered above his worth by us & we still got outbid.

WGAF? - I don't. Can't see why anybody would, he didn't impress me in the slightest.

Best performance I witnessed was his manager talking him up

Deitz got selected for origin pathways and Brailey was part of the Australian Schoolboys side so they might be an option post ennis

yep agree with both posts, we have 3 guys who are young who have the chance to learn and improve their skills under micks leadership

Not sure he played to his best last year, nor did others. He definitely was soft when taking the ball up, already signed the dogs contract and didn't want to get hurt. The dogs will bring back Dr. George to help him get his mojo back. Not a fan nor a knocker but l think we might see a big improvement in him this year .

Having said all that l would have Ennis any day of the week.Like many other things, he will be the gift that keeps giving.

Lichaa seems to have toned down, I dare say they've worked hard on his fitness over the pre season, there is talk that he won't even start in first grade

Damien Cook.

Also Reynolds with Mbye at 6 but that would be a bold move.

I think there's a lot of revisionism going on since Lichaa announced he was moving. His running game has enormous potential even if he overplayed his hand a little at times and he tackles well. Fitness is lacking but that will come.

I don't think his run first game would really have suited Flanno's game plan in the long run though so its perhaps best that he left. I'm not sure he'll suit Hasler's either but Des is probably more flexible and might tailor things to suit him.

Either way I'm not too fussed. Ennis will have a good impact.over the next two years and can mentor Brown, Brailey and Deitz as long term options. We'll be unlucky if all of them aren't up to it.

yeah that's what I heard, Reynolds has been training at 9 in mybe at 6

Agree with what you said about lichaa, he has potential but seems to walk allot on the field, when the ball got spread most times he couldn't make it to dummy half, it was happening in reserve grade as well

I'm sure des has seen this as his key weekness

Yeah hooker might be Reynolds' position... As long as his defense there has improved since his Origin dummy half games a couple of years ago.

Someone on Talkin Sport today reckons that there's been a fallout within the ranks and that Lewis wants an immediate release to join the Rorters. If that's the case they must be close to the salary cap and may need to offload a player or two.
