I thought Jack Williams was.

So did everyone until he demonstrated he isn't ready yet.
His fitness will be up a bit next year hopefully and he'll be a bit better but he definitely needs someone to job share with still, based on this season.

We have four starters this year who are in their first year of NRL. They should be better next year, especially defensively. I wouldn’t be surprised if Williams and Nikita are a lot better next year.

I agree, I think Williams will be better again next year, with better fitness and defence. If that takes him from a 30 minute player to a 50 minute player we still need someone to fill the other half hour.

Billy Mags is a good option if he can earn it, especially being able to cover hooker if needed. Our actual tested options are Boogs and Prior - both on the decline seemingly.

We're a bit thin in the engine room depending on how guys like Mags and Rudolf step up.

Jackon is a guy that was always mediocre but people rated. Even if he wants half of what he was worth at his 'peak', he's not going to be value for money IMO.

We need unsung heroes or guys like Jai Arrow who are rated but really do put in the hard yards.

I don't want us to recruit any players that 'have that something that doesn't reflect in the stats' or whatever.

To me that's exactly what Jackson is, he's just on too big a salary.

If you could get him for 300k, which obviously won't happen, people would love him.

Jackson has only 90% tackle efficiency and only 97.3 average run meters.
I know he's in a dog **** side but doesn't do us much favours if he's just as mediocre as most of the rest of our middles, unless he was being payed according to that not according to his reputation.
I think there was like one Origin where I felt he played like he deserved to be there. 1 out of 9.

For comparison Woods is 95.1 & 122.6m
Fifita 93.2 & 112.7
BHU is 90.3 & 98.7m
Prior is 91.5 & 90.8m
Gallen is 89.8 & 120.1m

Apparently we've completely given up on Williams though, not listed in squad on Sharks website.

Jackson has made a heap of tackles but I'd like to see that percentage be a bit higher if he actually wanted half decent money, and he really doesn't do much to solve the go forward issue.
Typically plays 80 so we'd be playing Williams at prop mostly.

In saying that he does look like he'd be better than Prior...
