But it was during a period of great stress for himself, his staff and his playing group. People who he cared greatly for and wanted to keep supporting during our darkest hours!
He didn’t kill anyone, he didn’t hit or hurt anyone, he didn’t steal anything, so the punishment needs to fit the crime.
Was what he did stupid? Maybe.
Does he need to accept responsibility for an error in judgement? Probably!
Does he deserve to be deregistered? **** NO!
The NRL is acting like a guy with a fast car (and small dick).
They want to look powerful but it’s all wind and bluster with a lot of Chest beating and posturing to show everyone who’s boss!
Fine him, suspend him for 3 - 6 months and move on and let him come back.
Hopefully common sense prevails and the above punishments happen and we as a club stick by him.
