So do we still have cap space or what? Because I’m surprised we’re not one of the clubs being mentioned for Robert Jennings.

Well I guess there is a fair bit of uncertainty surrounding us at the moment

You wonder about these people running football clubs. How do you continue to lose so much money? How do you keep spending what you haven't got?

"Big news on many levels for Cronulla fans.

And finally, it's positive.

The Cronulla board have successfully proven their financial stability to the NRL after submitting solvency paperwork on Friday.

NRL boss Todd Greenberg's wish for the Sharks to not only survive in the Shire, but thrive was supported by positive budgetary forecasts and a promise to re-model the business at Cronulla.

The Sharks also recieved a $1.5 million cash injection by a local businesman on Thursday which will elevate their financial challenges.

On the field, the Sharks are also set to be handed a major boost with co-captain Wade Graham on the verge of signing a new three-year deal.

Graham is determined to be part of the club as it moves into a new era without Shane Flanagan."

So with the cash injection, it's exactly that, right? Not a loan, not expecting anything in return?

I assume the author of the above meant the loan is going to alleviate the club's financial challenges rather than elevate them.

Great news to hear Wade is keen to re-sign despite Flanno's departure.

He's the heir apparent to Gal so it will be good to have him locked up long term.

ARTHUR INTO CONTENTION FOR SHARKS JOB

Don’t be surprised if the Sharks add Brad Arthur to their coach wish list for next season.

Arthur needs a good year at the Eels after the club struggled this season but is still held in high regard by rival clubs.

Sharks players are pushing for assistant coach John Morris to replace the disgraced Shane Flanagan but I’m hearing Arthur’s management may offer his services to Cronulla.

A host of other contenders are in the hunt for the Sharks job, with Trent Barrett current favourite.

The Mole. Would definitely want him over Barrett.
