Yeah I don't understand. What if one of your family members is a bikie ? You have to shun them ?

They act like when you become a bikie you turn into the boogieman or something.

*Meanwhile that Alex Gollan guy got released on bail...

That is a ridiculous comment.

I have never commited a crime in my life and have am a senior white collar manager yet some of my friends have been in prison. If the cops waste any time recording who the **** I hang out with it is an absolute joke.

once for a quote once for the job. Its **** but its the way it is i guess. Although wasnt issued any warning or notice like Fifita so obviously he has closer ties than doing invoiced work

So innocent tradies are treated like criminals. The money he paid you for your work was more than likely taken out of some bugger's kneecaps. If this crackdown on association continues you might be in strife profiting from crime.

Its a ridiculous law. A bloke I've been good mates with since we were kids is the sort of bloke BWB would get pulled over for visiting. I don't have or want anything to do with what he does now, but we're still mates and catch up for a beer a few times a year. We don't talk about work. Literally two lads who've known each other since kids having a beer and a yarn, but from BWB's experience I can only assume I'm now an "affiliate" which is ****ing horse****.

Is everyone who hangs out with whoever Fifita was hanging out with getting these notices or just the bloke who is an NRL star?

I'd have no problem if the Sharks or the NRL went to Fifita and said "mate you're on big money, high profile, we can't have you hanging out with so and so. Its a crook look for the game."

They're his employer and its obvious that he's being told this because he's an NRL player. But when the cops do it you gotta wonder if so and so's mate who is a brickie and hangs out with him as much as Fifita is also being told to steer clear.

Can just imagine some wanker desk job cop leaking petty **** like this to the media. What an incredible waste of tax payer funds.

Take one look at most NRL players and you'd make the assumption they had some dodgy mates.

It's a thugs game, it's gonna happen.

This should not be a news article, but I would still prefer it not publicly known that our players hang out with crims- ridiculous that a) cops would serve him with such a notice and b) it's all over the news

I don't understand how these consorting laws work. On the face of it it would appear that a convicted criminal who has been released can have no friends other than his family, and even then that may not be true.

It used to be an Australian tradition that once you had done your time, it was done. Out of prison a fresh start. Branding people as criminals forever will help ensure that they don't have many other paths to follow.

Good thing Parra didn't make the finals or Danny Wicks would be running at Fifita all day knowing he isn't allowed to get near him

Just on channel 9. The guy he visited wasn't a bikie. Was the guy who killed Thomas Kelly In the cross with one punch attack.
Fmd seriously they issue a consorting notice for that? Police have lost the ****ing plot.

I work in a trade that buys from the public. Lots of undercover police work is following known associates. We've had multiple instances of police coming in minutes after stand over people sell us items and they log all the details of the goods and ids used. One time the person selling said upfront he was a bikie affiliate and that undercover police would be in once he leaves. These police said they were tasked with following his day to day activities simply because he's known to them and not because he was currently being investigated for a known crime. It was quite an eye opener at the time. Now it's just business as usual.
