So, would there be any repercussions for the club if they give him a couple of weeks suspension and the NRL come in over the top and say it's not enough?

I really don't see any reason why we should apply a harsh penalty and rub him out for the year. If the NRL want to do it, let them do it.

Why do we have to sit here and second guess what they think of it?

I feel the NRL are conducting a little experiement of sorts. Leaving it up to the Clubs, but letting them know they can (so far I don't think they have done so) overrule a weak decision made in favour of the Club over the game itself.

I remember the NRL talking alot about getting Clubs up to a standard. Things like for a Club to receive their total available grant money they'd have to achieve certain criteria within their business.

Personally I don't mind the approach of letting Clubs handle their own problems and only stepping in if its bull****. Clubs want their autonomy - they've got it. But with that power comes responsibility and the NRL will act if they don't meet that responsibility.

I say get the boys to make a few comments about the incident. Get the media to talk as much **** as they possibly can that isn't about the game itself. Cowboys come in and think we are a wreck but we trolled the media the whole time and smash them 40-6. We find out that the ref was fifitas cousin the whole time and he just took a trip to Bali just for the sake of it and the media look like dicks and there is a photo of the ref and the twins laughing their ass off

I like the idea up until it got strange.

I agree with Gal. The club should give Andrew 4 weeks and a fine. Lyall should let Andrew understand that he is in a position of being pressured by the NRL and sponsors and he has to do something. James Graham got 4 weeks for his combo of dangerous contact and referee abuse, so we shouldn't dish out more than that. If the NRL wish to add more weeks, then Andrew can fight them with his legal team.

But to have a standard you need rules in place if we give him eight games off and then next year another player does it and the club gives them six it becomes unfair.

The problem is there is no standards it all made up by pressure from the media.

Agree. The club should dish out 2-4 weeks. I fear if WE rub hum out for the season the relationship between player and club will become untenable. If the NRL comes in over the top of us that's not our fault.

Agree with you snowman, but i fear there is a real push to make an example out of this and i wonder whether the NRL has already been in our ear to determine the punishment we set.

If he doesn't play again this season it's a ****n disgrace.

Agree with every indiscretion from a NRL player the "line in the sand" moment gets closer and closer just hope this isn't it, 2-4 weeks then back in the foal..

I agree a four week suspension and 50k fine is still too much. But if thats the worst so be it. Any longer and we should riot.

Indigenous Round .
Drop all NRL charges and let the brothers play .
Otherwise , I reckon we play the discrimination card ;)

But seriously, getting real for a second .
They are being made the scapegoat for EVERY bad parent or fan .
They have already payed a price of being banned for 12 Months from Penrith local League .
Been humiliated in public by the press . Have had mental health issues hanging over them (Andrew) .
I really do feel 4 weeks and and a BIG fine is enough .
With the NRL stating that they will throw the book at the next NRL player who does the same .
WARNING to all players FIRST rather than NUKING the Fifita's without them possibly realising the severity of their offense .
Win/Win/Win .

Setting a precedent is a bit of a show really. It's unlikely that an NRL player will be caught up in anything like this in the near future anyway.

Nice that SKD's first game back after allegedly bashing an indigenous woman on 10 occasions coincides with indigenous round. No doubt the Sharks would be accused of insensitivity if it was us.

Not comparing skd to fafita at all.

But a guy assaults his girlfriend on 10 occasions, breaks an avo, has had a previous assault charge against him with an impending court case is allowed to play this weekend??

What do you say to a kid who goes for the roosters? It makes sense to a child that because he beat his girlfriend he is not allowed to play - simple moral compass can see the logic there, but what do you say when he is allowed to play - its not that bad, this is acceptable in the nrl. This is something that I had to do.

Its bull****. He should not play until after court - for the pure severity of the crime, he could go to jail. I saw today that he has pleaded not guilty. I hope this represents to a court - no remorse.
