We need to get Uncle Nick Politis on the case , anything negative to do with the roosters magically disappears from media scrutiny

The ****test thing about this whole **** storm is that it highlights quite obviously the media bias against the Sharks. Here we've got SKD, alleged to be a complete and utter piece of ****, running and hiding in a psych ward somewhere, while simultaneously having the media come and fondle his stupid little penis; and on the other hand two guys had some stern words to a ref who essentially failed in his duty of care to a junior player and it's like the world's caving in on Cronulla. Now come the **** on. Really, media? You guys are dicks.

Just circle the wagons and tell them all to go stick it. Defend our blokes to the hilt. It will mean plenty to them and the rest of the players. I'll be disappointed if they miss more than a week.

I heard the case of Alistair Clarkson, the Premiership winning Hawthorn coach was raised on the radio this morning. He had a verbal crack at a junior referee at his son's game a few years ago. His punishment? An apology and a (short) ban from the junior league. Link

Similarly, Paul Roos entered the field of play at a junior game a few years ago. Not dissimilar circumstances - a player was hurt and he was concerned. AFAIK no sanction because he stuck to his guns. Link

Precedent, lack of evidence and the principle of proportionality are on our side. The only court that would pass any sanction against these two is the court of public opinion led by chief merkins Rothfield and the aptly named Kent. The thing is, their opinions don't matter one iota so lawyer the fuq up and don't give an inch to the media lynch mob.

That's interesting about the Hawthorn coach because I think Kent was referring to this precedent on Triple M. I took it as he was banned for 4 weeks from the AFL, not the junior league. Kent was pushing for this precedent to be applied at the time, but everyone has stepped up a level in outrage since then. He was saying that the NRL can't be weak etc. well, the Fifitas have both received 12 month bans from the juniors (pending appeal I think) so if you straight out apply that precedent the rugby league has been far tougher already.

I'll have to try and find the Kent rant to see what he said exactly but my impression at the time was that it was an AFL ban.

What makes me laugh is that the MSM idots think that banning two players for 12months will solve the issue of parents etc giving refs a spray and so on it wont solve ****.

FMD Kent is looking for a precedent to be set .... Michael Jennings charged with offensive behavior and hindering police in June , he is stood down for one match and fined 20k by the NRL ( half of which is suspended ) and we never hear any more about it. He is due back in court in September , what is the bet it is adjourned until post season.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned too often is the ref's role in this. Refs are renowned for their ineptitude particularly in the game of rugby league. If the League is getting jack of so called "ref abuse", why don't they invest more into producing refs who know what the **** they're doing?

Another thing which seems to be conveniently overlooked by kent and cronies is if that jobsworth referee had answered david in the first place and not brushed him off the whole situation would have been avoided.

Stood down because they failed to act correctly in relation to an injured player should be how it reads.

Exactly. If refs want respect they have to deserve it. If a guy gets on his high horse cos he has a whistle in his mouth then hes not worthy of respect
