If we don’t re-sign him, surely he’s given a job around the club. Ideal situation would be an 18th man role. Gets to suit up, maybe bang an esky? But just there to be a part of the team. He is more Cronulla than Cronulla atm
If I remember correctly Fitzy mentioned that he would like to utilise him even if it is not on the match day.

Just watching the SOO announcement for Finucane, one can see what he means to the club and the boys.

You can see across Fifita’s social media how close he is with the team and how such a big a role model he is for all the indigenous and islander boys.

As said by a few, not sure we need him as a player next year but if we lost him to Super League instead of straight into a coaching/mentoring/trainer role it will also be a bit of a shame.

How passionate was he on the sideline ( after his setting the platform stint ) encouraging his team mates and yaahooing when he thought Ramian had scored right in front of him.

Fifs has been fired up like a Lion all season

Him and Dale seem to be hitting it off, were giving each other pats on the back up the tunnel at half time - love it

Gunna be one of the saddest days when Fifs isn't running out for us anymore, things wont be the same without him but lets enjoy his presence on and off the field while we have got him. Not against him playing some games for us next season on a cheap contract but also I am sentimental.

At the moment though he is doing a good job - happy for him and the rest of the team

100% I think that’s inspired him to give his all

Before that I think he wanted to keep playing but was struggling to come to terms with what he’d lost through his knee issues and didn’t have the personal motivation to push through it.
That injury was a complete mental reset for him

Agreed however I would love to see him get a 1 or 2 year deal in the super league on decent coin to cash in and set himself up even more. Then come back to us to work with our juniors ect
