Yeah his knee is cooked, said so himself. Will never have the agility or speed he had.

Even on one leg his game was strong tonight.

Still remember a game against the tigers he split them up the middle and put the foot down was awesome seeing the big man flat out.

When he gave that penalty away for lying on the player, he literally couldn't get up. Gave his all tonight but there's not much left of him to give.

His knee is shot. Club is trying to medically retire him. Will be his last year most likely.

Absolutely wouldn’t be surprised. Benefit is it frees up heaps of cap space but leaves is short a key front rower.

Still have Uele, Woods and Rudolf but we’d need to go shopping. Unless they think Pele is ready for a bench spot

I doubt they’d go Pele, more like Hunt

Not sold on Hunt, think he's more here for depth right now but not part of the long term plan with Raper, Pele etc.

Whether they're ready for a bench spot who knows, doesn't make it easy when they can't play at the moment

Pele doesn't even have an NRL contract (or I think a dec contract either)

Although this convo stemmed from

By next year Pele could be looking at a bench spot but yes, odds are Hunt would still be ahead of him

Look you're probably right but my point is Morris is not willing to lose any future first graders from now on. That's why he's locked so many in last year.

Pele is in the next batch, so I think we'll be seeing more of him soon. Yes maybe not this year, but long time between now and next year.

so seems this legend isn't cooked up and done with afterall

wow was not expecting that peformance. some great hard runs and energy all round. he made an impact and without much silly business

I really hope he didn't have to smash too many pain killers too get that sort of performance out of his body - that is not sustainable for the big fella, needs to think of life after footy and his family as well (not saying isn't on his agenda) cause your body doesn't forget how it is treated even if your mind does.
hopefully round 1 was just some tenderness and maybe a bit of lack of confidence in the knee and that had him hold back some opposed to round 2 hey lets just up the dosage!

was heartbreaking to read that story where he said his knee isn't getting better and he should be medically retired ect. seemed the writing was on the wall after the last few seasons of regression but it was still hard for this fan to cop and was bit of a shock for that reality to hit and need to set in of a Cronulla Sharks without a rampaging rolley polley Andrew Fifita. Fifs is a big part of our club and our success

So here we were thinking well that rnd 1 performance is just what he is now, it's all he can give, a shadow of himself as he fades down towards a peak of mediocrity and while remember the glorious levels he once reached
then on Saturday he explodes out of the blocks as if to say hey stop reminiscing and take a look at what I am showing you right now!

it gave this sharks fan hope that there is still more to come and more to give from this champion forward, that he could still bring something of note to this team, something that reminds us of his best and go out on much brighter terms as he deserves if and when that may be

really hope he can back this up in round 3 (whenever that may be or if we even get there) and show it was more than a teasing flash in the pan. if anything he has time to rest and recover for a while

Any word on Andrew.
We could use a 90 % fit Big Unit against Cowboys
