Once again we had injuries (2 forwards this time) but Tolman was given only 27 mins

what's going on surely he is still capable of playing a longer stint or starting for us and giving us 60 odd minutes over the course of a game

yea he made that one handling error (doesn't happen very often) but his hit ups were half decent and he didn't miss a tackle. We lost Dale who usually keeps it tight around the middle seemed like another situation perfect for Tolman to be out there for

McInnes and Brailz could have used the help around the ruck or even bit of a breather

Aidens not a player you have to wrap in cotton wool he has a big motor and is consistent under fatigue. doesn't fall off a cliff like some other forwards once he starts to get tired

Yes we have had a 4 forward bench the last 2 games spreading the minutes around more amongst more forwards but surely if you lose a starter and benchy to injury there is a case to give some more time to one of your natural workhorses.

As a Tolman fan I was happy he didn't get a lot minutes yesterday , seemed to be even more out of sync than others

He dropped one ball but was otherwise soild, he has a simple job, he could have managed

Our backline and spine were the ones all over the shop. forwards did what they could

Perhaps chasing points Fitz feels Tolman isn't the bloke to have out there as same thing happened last week against Warriors but in this Raiders game we kept leaking points.

With Dale out of action for a bit it will make sense to get Tolmans minutes back up

Surely Fitzy leverages the majestic endurance of the polar bear this week

Hunt will have to work harder as a starter so I don't expect him getting more than 25 mins before being subbed and the only other middle on the bench is Fifs who is typically very low minutes

Also no Dale

I would be giving Tolman 40-50 mins this week

Imagine if this bloke had a touch more speed, size & strength, he’d be the worlds best prop, gives everything he has, the Connor Tracey of forwards

solid while not spectacular - typical Tolman performance

frankly you don't want a non-typical performance from him cause it might be bad

something I noticed about Tolman which might explain why he is a bit of a magnet to opposition ball carriers and has an uncanny knack for getting himself in positions to make important last line of defense tackles (despite is tardy nature) is that after he makes his tackle and retreats from the ruck to get back the 10 metres is that he keeps his head on a swivel and keeps his eyes on the play the ball and what the opposition are doing even if his body is running towards our own try line.

alot of forwards, especially tired ones don't do this. they just turn around facing our own tryline and run back the 10 and by the time they turn around to see what is happening they could be caught out with what is going on with the play and where they need to be or should have been.

Woods was one of the worst with this but Rudolf does it too. One of those little effort areas and attention to detail that sometimes makes a big difference in defense.
