What's the atmosphere like over there? Genuine excitement?
Yeah, people definitely pretty excited about an AFL GF

I’d say these seem to be amongst some of the lesser supported teams in WA though, and a lot of very passionate AFL fans I’ve spoken to aren’t really that fussed who wins but still very excited for the event itself

People trying to buy tickets not even having decided which team they’d go for but still super excited

Plenty of people are like 'pity about covid, you could have gone and watched them '

Lol covid or no covid, I had near zero chance of getting tickets

So…..Voss huh?
So…..Voss huh?
Yeah interesting. Was ordinary as a head coach but that was a long time ago now and not ideal coaching the club he played for, he wasn't ready.

Apparently has matured quite a bit. Was a phenomenal player, hopefully can instill some mongrel in our soft cock side.

One thing I will say, I have full confidence in guys like David Parkin who was heavily involved in the decision.

Also, Brian Cook is a massive, massive appointment.

Apparently he was nowhere near first choice. Carlton got knocked back by quite a few coaches.

Huge.
Really sorry to see Cooky go, but he's left the Cats as one of the most well managed and administered sporting clubs in Australia. Considering the basket case we were, he's been incredible.
I don't blame the bluebags for working so hard to bring him in and the potential for what he could do there is immense considering their history and supporter base.
It'll be good to be able to start properly hating them again actually, rather than feeling sorry for them all the time. ;)

Since Voss has been head coach, Cartlon have won zero games.

No doubt they'll do a review next week and they'll have a new coach by October

Yeah I don't know about that.

He's the reason they've been in a slump for 20 years.
Too right, I did find myself at a couple of Carlton presidents luncheons back in the day. Was a dodgy character in board rooms of a footy club and in the corporate world.

Was just watching the players singing along with the national anthem and they stuck with the singer right up until the last note and then seemed to give up. If this is any reflection on their persistence and drive we could be in for a limp wristed game.
