It really is an awesome photograph. It's shame there has been so much negative discussion around it.

Well Carlton defied the odds by not going scoreless in that first quarter

Done very well to stay in the game

Not sure what to take out of it.

Some encouraging signs but all in all it's the same issue as the past few years, can play well for a quarter or two but can't sustain it.

Haha quality from the Pies banner. Referencing their problem in last years Grand Final, so they’ve written on tonight’s one. “We’ve reviewed the footage, we’ve addressed our mistake, now we’ve used more tape” or something along those lines haha.

In Eddie's defence, if I wanted advice on how to be a great tosser, he'd be one of the first people I would ask

He really is a dick.

When I lived down in Melbourne, my housemate had recently consolidated his loan to buy another investment property, and the Westpac bank manager gave him corporate tickets to a pies game because he was a Collingwood member. I went with him.

Part of the package was having breakfast at the MCG before the game with the Collingwood players and officials. We were at the same table as Eddie.

After breakfast and before the game there was a meet and greet while the player prepared, and Eddie introduced himself and he was nice enough and all.

Before the game there was a Collingwood official came around to all the guests and was like "Mr McGuire likes to watch the footy outside by himself and can get quite involved, so it's best not to interact with him" and sure enough he spent the whole game outside turning the air blue.

Some of the stuff he was saying would make a hooker blush, it was mental

He's a clown but I actually admire his passion.

What’s wrong? Getting lonely being down the bottom every year bud?

It was 17 years ago. Used to it now.
