Leaked teams have him on the bench with Barnett starting.

AFB has been copping a fair bit of grief since game one, but how anyone can watch that game, and those following it and say, Barnett is our starter is baffling.

Find yourself a PR department like Barnett has

Barnett is the reason we got blitzed in the first half. No way he should keep his starting spot over AFB

Watch the highlights and look for his goal line tacke at the start. Almost Talakai like in its stopping power. Huge.

Barnett was lucky to be in the team at all, and still is. Would have made more sense to pick Ford.
Barnett may have done well previously but he's not played a lot of footy since then.

Daley picked a bunch of underdone players, got bailed out by Ponga's stupidity and is going to double down and do it again by dropping our best player in game 1 for Moses

Played well, blues bench is best for him, he wont handle 6 agains and turn overs, qld will work him over again

Being on the bench, he’ll be lucky to see the field in Game 2.

Given that Murray and Radley are on the bench still, there are two middle rotations that will take what he normally would get; similar to Safiti in Game 1.

AFB was immense against the Dargs, even in the first half when we didn't have the upper hand and the Dragons pack were fresher
I thought the same. His runs and contact in D played a big role in keeping us in it.

On Bloke podcast when talking about how Penrith are so good at picking apart teams and knowing how to beat them before the game even starts, it's raised that in Vegas Penrith had intentionally structured a play to get Nathan tackled on the last with AFB at A defender, knowing he would sit too wide and Yeo may be able to cut back behind ruck and score. And that all played out.
That was their first try, and they did go on to win by 6.

Now Ivan has been an NRL head coach for 20 years, so I don't necessarily think there is much we can do to expect Fitz to be exactly as good as him. And you need to players to pull concepts like this off.

But hopefully AFB/Fitz have that gap fixed up since then!
I wouldn't specifically say I remember him being beaten there a lot - more him just stood in ruck not trying to do anything...

Just thought it was an interesting anecdote, including the fact Nathan being caught on the last would have probably both a) looked unintended and b) concentrated our attention towards the other half even (and away from the ruck) even more

If we had a crystal ball and knew the game was going to end up the way it has, would we have been happy signing AFB? For a mill?
