Official Addin Fonua-Blake

He has an offload, we just never have any players ready for it.

Same thing happened with Kaufusi when he first came to the shire. I was excited to see us getting some second phase play going but it must be a tactic to hold the ball.
Kaufusi had 2 offloads tonight, one led to a break by Talakai. AFB just hitting the ball up not even thinking about it. 2nd phase play is so effective

This **** needs to get angry. Totally outshone by Toby tonight. Imagine AFB running like Toby did as well. And then what Brailey could do off the back of it.

Sometimes I wonder if we are just a pay cheque for AFB, and he’s not as invested as he was at warriors.

Sure always puts on a bit of late footwork into contact and lumbers forward for good meters but how often has he played like a top 3 prop in the game?
Openly admitted he loses focus during games last season. Imagine if Hynes said that on his million a season - people would go absolutely ballistic.

Another pedestrian showing.

He'll forget the lyrics of the team song at this rate... Something for the Mole and Zero Tackle to write about.

He won Porter Gallen Medal and more importantly Sharks Forever Player of the Year last year.

Those stats by season indicate we are using him more as a workhorse though … we have to be smarter.

Who else saw he was going to drop the ball from a mile away?

I was screaming at the tele to get him and Hazo off as they were beyond gassed - then saw the pass in slow motion.

I was like "Nooooooooo..."

Doesn’t mean he’s not still putting in a decent effort for his pay cheque. The workhorse gets through his meters. Did the outlay elevate is like we hoped though?

He is a very good player still.
I just wonder if he’s a couple % less passionate with us.
In saying that it may be hard to try and be more destructive if we are exhausting him

Yeah maybe don’t use the “keep the ball in play for 20 minutes” game plan against one of the most mobile teams in the comp

Everyone?
Closeup on AFB struggling, then wide shot on him trudging forward and bam! like clockwork...

Fitz should have changed his interchange rotation on the spot. He didn't even bring anyone fresh after they scored.
He might say they scored twice late in the half anyway after said changes were made, but still something had to be done imo.

Also, it wasnt hot hot, but the humidity still probably a slight advantage for a QLD team's conditioning. Not the be all, but a couple of percent advantage.

I think it's more like, "ceebs doing everything again"

Problem is when AFB is on fire, there is an absolute massive difference between him and the next best forward.

I really think we need to get Fa'atili in, have AFB take him under his wing. Might give AFB motivation?

The whole team looks to be playing at a full season pace right now. Maybe that will pay off later, but right now the conservative paCe is tough to watch, especially from guys with so much more to offer, like AFB

"I present to you the reigning Dally M - Prop of the year.

He has now failed to run for over 100m, two games in a row.

To put this into context, last year he never once ran for under 100m in a game.

What the hell is going on at the Sharkies. Not one of their forwards ran for over 100m against the Dolphins."

I don't think that's a tactic we should be using this year at all, with the 6 again rule changes and our bigger less mobile forward pack.

doesnt help most of those 2 games we were coming out of our own 20, where the backs do all the work. stoney ran for almost 200 and i dont remember any long runs

He's a star prop, but cant just rely on him and make him do all the hard yards, the other props/middles especially who ever is starting with him need to try get up to his level and take on more work

I don't want him to do all the hard yards, I'd expect more than 100m from a seven figure prop, though.
We saw it last year, rely on him for metres, hit up after hit up, working him into the ground, need another starter to step up and match him. Tommy looked likely last season, but hasn't been effective starting the season, Oregan didnt do much last year when starting, BHU's turn next and see if he can build and be consistent starting.
