ABshark's ratings for Cronulla vs Souths (NRL Premiership, Round 3, 2010)

3 Points - Siosaia Vave: Gave him the three points for a good debut it horrible circumstances. If we hadn't been beaten so soundly people surely would be raving about this guy- took it up strongly against the big souths pack, really aggressive in defence. Looks to be really mobile and has a passing game. Stoked to see him go so well. (7/10)
2 Points - Anthony Tupou: Did well when he got the ball but certainly shouldn't be in the centres permanently (bort). What we saw was him running as a second rower with depth when he went one place wider. Improvement from him though, needs more footy. (6/10)
1 Point - Adam Cuthbertson: Improving week by week. Would be better with a bit more structure, hopefully will come with Smith. Should get a start next week ahead of Milo. (6/10)

- Albert Kelly: That sort of thing happens. Doesn't mean he won't make a fullback, just has some things to work on. With ball in hand, I thought he improved. (3/10)
- Blake Ferguson: Lucky try. Defended well and looked dangerous but still a lot of loose errors in his game- some horrible carries. Does have a knack for scoring though. (5/10)
- Nathan Stapleton: Did look a bit soft carrying on on the ground then dashing around to make a tackle a few minutes later. Looked okay at centre in attack, but thought he defended poorly- actually, he DID defend poorly, Champion got a double thanks to some bad reads. Don't see how he's getting MVP points. (4/10)
- Dean Collis: Missed the first bit, didn't see him. Hopefully fit next week. No rating.
- Luke Covell: Standard cov game. Wasn't great, wasn't the worst. Wonder why he's there for his leadership and defence last night when we looked liek headless chooks and were waving tries in down his edge. (4/10)
- Trent Barrett: Not much you can do when the blokes around you drop the ball all the time. Passing game was a bit off though, but just tackled all night. Personally, I feel for him- he didn't sign up for this. Then again, need better leadership and some calm and confidence from him. Will definetely go better with Smith taking some of the pressure off. (4/10)
- John Morris: Toiled. Not as bad at half as some suggest- an adequate spare. Didn't create much though (4/10)
- Kade Snowden: Disappointing. Got frustrated, gave away penalties. Guys like him, Baz, Doug, Toops, Stapo and Gal- our best players- all look so jaded atm. (4/10)
- Paul Aiton: His quietest game for us yet, but we were getting hammered. Not as bad as some though. (5/10)
- Luke Douglas: Tackles, better metres in the first half at least. Still playing too many minutes. (5/10)
- Grant Millington: Very very quiet game. Disappointing, and a soft miss on Best. (2/10)
- Paul Gallen: Got owned at times. Felt for him cos he always tries hard, but not a great game at all. Wonder whether some people watch or just assume he and dougie should get the points every week... (5/10)
- Josh Cordoba: Tried hard, lots of tackles. Gave away a couple of costly penalties though. May well be made a scapegoat for that one. (5/10)
- Stuart Flanagan: Looked sharp. Jeez we've got talent and depth at 9, he could be starting for some clubs... like the Raiders- what??? (6/10)

Ramzyv1's ratings for Cronulla vs Souths (NRL Premiership, Round 3, 2010)

3 Points - Paul Gallen: Solid as always but was also quiet. Got monstered by Souths defence. (7/10)
2 Points - Adam Cuthbertson: Solid as well. Did some good things but hope he gets better as the team does. Possibly just a big fish in a small pond at this point, like Gal. (7/10)
1 Point - Luke Covell: Scored a try, missed both kicks, played alright and almost prevented a try when he was marking 4 guys by trying to take out the guy with the ball. He got a hand to it and gave the team time to scramble. They didnt but the effort was there. Sad that I had to rate him 3rd best as he wasnt great by any means but good enough to keep his spot for sure. (6/10)

- Albert Kelly: Dangerous with ball but terrible game for him. Will be good one day. (3/10)
- Blake Ferguson: Looked better on wing. Will be good in the centres when the team has more confidence after some wins. (5/10)
- Nathan Stapleton: Looked good in centres and if Kelly did well then i'd be happy to keep that combo. (5/10)
- Dean Collis: Injured 10 mins in. Barely saw him.
- Trent Barrett: Get more involved. I think with a quality 7 next to him he will be better next week. (6/10)
- John Morris: Didnt play bad but didnt do anything. Back to hooker. (5/10)
- Kade Snowden: Didnt really notice him. (6/10)
- Paul Aiton: Mixed game. Expected more. (6/10)
- Luke Douglas: Didnt do much, had a couple of defensive errors. (5/10)
- Grant Millington: Has been one of our worst in last 2 weeks. Would be dropped if we had someone. I'd drop him anyway. (4/10)
- Anthony Tupou: Looked dangerous when he had the ball but he never had it. Needs to get more involved. Not sure if its his fault or the rest of the teams for not passing it to him. (6/10)
- Josh Cordoba: Didnt really notice him but thats his game as he just makes tackles. Judging from the team's defensive performance I'd guess he didnt but I'd have to see his stats. (6/10)
- Stuart Flanagan: Pretty disappointing in defence and attack and I'm happy to see him make room for Tim Smith. (4/10)
- Siosaia Vave: Good debut, did not look out of place at any point (although to be fair he'd have to have played pretty **** to look out of place in this team!). See you next week! (6/10)

SharkBoy's ratings for Cronulla vs Souths (NRL Premiership, Round 3, 2010)

3 Points - Paul Gallen: Always tries hard. Tackles and runs has hard in the 80th minute as in the 1st minute. Solid effort. (7/10)
2 Points - Blake Ferguson: Solid game, looked good in attack. (6/10)
1 Point - Luke Douglas: Played a solid game. He keeps trying, played a lot of minutes for front rower. (6/10)

- Albert Kelly: Woeful under the high ball in his run on debut. Can only get better from here. Looked good running though. (4/10)
- Nathan Stapleton: Looked good in the centres. (6/10)
- Dean Collis: Injured after 10 mins. No rating
- Luke Covell: This guy puts the effort in every week. Played a pretty good game. (6/10)
- Trent Barrett: Another that tried hard but needs to get more involved. Hopefully he'll strike up a good combo with Smith (5/10)
- John Morris: Doesn't show enough creativity to be a half. Back to the bench for mine. (5/10)
- Kade Snowden: Disappointing. (5/10)
- Paul Aiton: Played alright I thought. (5/10)
- Grant Millington: Never saw much of him. (4/10)
- Anthony Tupou: Got stuck in the centres. Would like to see the game he was playing that made him a rep forward. (5/10)
- Adam Cuthbertson: Looks dangerous when he off loads. I think he should be a starter. (6/10)
- Josh Cordoba: Didn't notice him much. (4/10)
- Stuart Flanagan: Showed some zip coming off the bench. (5/10)
- Siosaia Vave: Pretty good Sharks debut. Ran hard. (6/10)

El Coconuto's ratings for Cronulla vs Souths (NRL Premiership, Round 3, 2010)

3 Points - Blake Ferguson: Has officially inherited the title of "Coco's Favourite Shark" which hasn't been given to anyone since Cap'n Peach retired. Shows consistent flair.
2 Points - Paul Gallen: Continued to dig and dig and dig. I'm not sure anybody has played the first three games of the season with more heart than Gallen with the exception of Scott Porter.
1 Point - Luke Douglas: One of the club's five "Must Keep At All Costs" players. Another industrious display

- Albert Kelly: Small Observation: It's interesting what one play can do to shoot a players confidence. Kelly's first fifteen minutes were flawless! Glad Ricky is giving him another crack.
