2026 State of Origin Discussion.

Yeah I was OK with that decision. For some reason I thought @Gumby was talking about the Best one, but he did say 'no try' so probably not.

I wasn't sure Martin would have the conditioning that was required but we had Ola on the bench so whatever Martin could play would have been fine. In the end with the HIA's Ola missed out, which is disappointing for him. Had a decent 60 minute stint game one then was dropped, and then ended up an unused sub.
And Martin was an absolute defensive menace which would have been the main thing asked of him. Didn't contribute really in the run game but so be it, plenty of stronger ball runners than him were in the side.

Crichton hasn't been the lock down defender good for a game winning intercept for a while, happy for him to be a little further down the depth chart. Not a bad option to call on if guys are injured though.
I think it was Martin's offload that set up the second try.

True
Does an offload count as the 'run game'? I guess it has to as he can't do it if he doesn't run haha
I should have said yardage probably, which as I said, wasn't really his job. He had a few offloads in the game.
I certainly wasn't saying he was bad

In that run to offload leading to the try he went through Munster with ease
And Capewell and Hammer didn't provide much more resistance

Not really what you expect from him but it was class. Imagine what Olakawatu might have done though we didn't need it. I'll leave to Lozza from now on.

Yep, that'd be the way to look at it

Qld would have had better options than Capewell surely.
If he isn't going to defend well then Nanai will be a good chance to take the jersey next season if fit. Already took 30 mins off him last night.
Luki or Finefuiaki could be back in contention again next season.

The better team won last night, we ruined it ourselves by giving away too many 6 agains in crucial times, knocking on aswell like how Cronulla almost killed it vs Broncos last week. Mind you, Klein ignored a few aswell from NSW aswell & didn't help. Bunker ignored a knock on by Bostock aswell & the NRL said it was knock on aswell.

We missed all our kicks aswell which never helped unfortunately. It was one of our worst ever performances in over 3yrs unfortunately. NSW were better last night unfortunately. Eitherway, the media have to move on now, Its only a game. Still so many articles coming out about the game. SOO is getting ridiculous these days now with social media.

Are you kidding? The media have been creaming themselves over QLD for over 40 years, especially in the last 15 or so.

If QLD won, they would be creaming over Billy Stater being the best coach of all time...

Let NSW have a bit of time in the spot light.

I still think 3/4 of the articles are coming out about 1 player, Nathan Cleary. I wonder if a general bloke like him is starting to get sick of it, it's a team game ffs! "David Riccio"... "All hail the King, greatest player of all time!" Haha.

Yeah the upset away victory was over 12 hours ago aswell, media need to move on. We should move on aswell.

Seriously... How many specials about Wally Lewis and every other QLD player do you need before NSW gets to gush about one of their own?
Then there was the Origin documentary that just came out... which was all about how terrible NSW were for stealing all of poor QLD's players for all those years. Let us have Cleary. The only other one we get to have is bloody Andrew Johns!

Good to have Cleary pick up a Lewis Johns medal for player of the series

I have no doubt that if NSW had half a team of future Immortals back when QLD one 8 in a row, and QLD broke the drought, there would be special after special how brave QLD were.

Then again, if NSW won 8 in a row, QLD would be full of English players and Pacific Islanders by now. Pour souls.

Games 1 and 2 he was great. Like most of QLD, he had a night to forget in game 3. QLD played one bad game and NSW played one good game – unfortunately for QLD they both occurred in the decider. If it weren’t for the Ponga sendoff the series would have been wrapped up in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago.
