Approximately 5 AM there is a kind of thud upon my roof tiles, followed by a scurrying sound of footsteps. The sound of the steps indicate something that is not human. They are too light, and sound as if there were 4 feet.

It was clear what had to be done.

I secured the alcohol and cannabis. Made a lasagne. Biding my time for the Amazon Prime sales. Forty Seven per cent off! I got 35 cameras to surveil my property.

More alerts of motion on cameras. The same furry black-and-white little ****er. I studied his patterns. Day and night. Night and day. I took a ****, admired last night’s dinner and then it came to me… Seeing that turd so perfectly being encapsulated and trapped – I was on the hunt!

I referred to my knowledge of studying this little pricks movement. Strategically, I placed traps. Nothing for a while other than motion detection alerts. Then early one morning, about 5:15 AM, I hear it. The snap of a trap door closing below the fig tree outside and a little sound that would translate to “what the ****?! Oh ****!”.

Long story short, it was a leprechaun in a possum costume. But we drank some Jamieson and he told me the lock position was JC’s to lose.

SHARKS​

Return: Staggered from November 21 to early January

Given how deep the Sharks went into the competition their first batch of players aren’t due back at Shark Park until Friday November 21. The likes of Nicho Hynes, Teig Wilton, Will Kenny and Braydon Trindall join the rest of the squad on December 5. Australian tour squad member Blayke Brailey isn’t due back until the new year while the likes of Addin Fonua-Blake and Briton Nikora also have a delayed start because of their representative commitments. Star winger Ronaldo Mulitalo will spend the summer in injury rehab after the Kiwis star suffered an ACL injury in the first week of the Pacific Championships.On the rookie front, exciting playmaker and Newington First XV fullback Callum Grantham will train with the NRL squad. So will fellow Australian Schoolboys representative and lock Tom Dellow, who was ranked as the no.1 Australian Schoolboy player on this masthead’s top 50 list.

And Trindall will still be in the 6 jersey then too.

Honestly, I've been trying to watch out for news recently to see if we've appointed anyone as our new assistant coach 2026 replacing Hannay or haven't we sorted that yet?

They are probably just searching for the right candidate. I'm not too sure how many assistants are out there looking for a job. I just hope the club is through with their process and chooses the right person.
 
Burns, Katoa & Cam are my picks on who signs with the bears. Uele I don’t think will, reckon warriors will have another go at getting him.

Think Ramien will go to the titans.

Who do you guys think will end up at the bears from our squad?
