2026 is a significant year
- 10th anniversary since 2016 premiership
- our diamond jubilee year (60th)

Some changes I hope to see
- Nikora and Burns starting second row
- Gabrael to start over Ramien
- Restructure our attack, Trindall and Hynes to link up more
- Brailey to kick more
- Coulqhoun to start at lock

Off field
- Updated home kit
- 2016 jersey to be brought back

Mate, I appreciate the intent and the input, but we're still trying to process the loss and the season's proper isn't over yet.

Don't blow your load too early, still a long way to go (and no, I won't mention @apezza so that he isn't the butt of the joke for once). :p

Hahaha forgot the mourning period.

I don't know why but I wasn't actually as distraught as I thought I was. For some stupid reason I was okay and actually got excited for next season.

Was flat as a tack for an hour or so. Brushed it now. Keen to see how the rest of this season plays out and looking forward to going one better in 2026. Wish there was some football on today.

A part of me is relieved that this season is over, it was too erratic and inconsistent.

If anything, I reckon this was more of Fitz's learning season rather anything for the players.

There is, the girls are playing tonight. 🦈

Yeah. There wasn't much controversy or anything. The better team won last night and the team recently showed a lot of what we've been asking for for so long.

But I guess I'm disappointed because I almost immediately have to ask the $1,000 question (a great success this year):

Who's the 7 in 2026 and is Nicho really a superstar 6?

At the end of the day if you will never be happy with anything short of a premiership then good luck to you following any team in any sport!

You might even have a spell like Panthers, but these things never last.

Last night sucks, and I’m still a bit down about it. But overall, a good season.

Hes also exactly what we lack
A pure x factor at fb who can ignite our attack from the 1st to the last tackle
Not much good on the sidelines. Sometimes his first tackle is his last. Any other players from the spoon winning team you are keen on?

I think my heart can have a nice rest for until March next year.

I really think next year is going to be a ripper, it was a bit disheartening but Melbourne are just a beast in finals.

We are one or two big game players short. But in saying that our boys now have big game experience too.

Love the optimism. I feel the source of the loss can be tracked to the regular season. Needed to have top 2 slot going in. Securing the Bye in playoffs helps immensely. We see it every year in the NFL, yes I’m from USA.
Penrith seem to be the only team that can play anytime anywhere in the playoffs and still be a force.
Regulars like Hynes need to be consistent and lethal in regular season. Melbourne were rested, sharp, and up for it.
I just feel it’s important to look at whole season in its entirety before so many fans will begin scrutinizing yesterday’s game.
I’m relatively new to the game and correct me if I’m wrong but this game is a lot easier when you’re just that little bit closer to your physical peak, less bruises, and in front of your own fans. Little difference from NFL really in that way.
Winning titles from low seeds are anomalies, not regularities. Focus for 2026 should be to secure a top spot in playoffs in those nice 2016 remake uniforms that was mentioned 😀

Exactly, all of those blokes now have the experience of making and playing in a prelim. For most that was 2 in a row. Our squad has already levelled up for next year as far as big-game experience goes.

Welcome aboard, mate.

First recruit for the 2026 season. It's looking bright already.
Speaking of optimism, you don't happen to play fullback, do you?
😁

We could have made it a lot easier on ourselves if we had of not dropped quite a few games we should have easily won. Absolutely could have been top 4.

Unless Penrith do it this year, winning from outside the top 4 is not even an anomaly in the NRL, it hasn’t happened.

Obviously a long season to play out but expectations would be making top 4 at a bare, bare minimum.

Welcome to the asylum too, mate.

We only need to look at the game against the Donkeys.
Win that one and we're 4th.
