Match 2026 NRL Round 8 - North Queensland Cowboys vs Cronulla Sutherland Sharks. 6:00pm, Friday 24 April @ Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Townsville

Match threads
Cowboys have resumed normal service, or was it just a blip n slip moment ?
Sharks have a very good record at Country Bank Stadium, having played 6 games there for 5 wins since the stadium opened at a win rate of %83 and average winning margin of 12 points. Still have humid days here but the 6PM kick off will be perfect football weather. Expecting to see the usual 2 to 3 hundred Sharks supporters there scattered around the stadium, be nice if we were all in the same area ( no box this season for me 😢 ) is anyone heading up for this ?
GO SHARKS !

Dissapointing isn't it? I was hoping we would be a legitimate powerhouse of consistency this year

Don't know what I was thinking?
To be honest no one is consistent and I think that's the what the NRL want. They was fast, high scoring and unpredictable games. They've in a way levelled the playing field so everyone has a chance.

Except for Dragons lol

Yep it doesn't take much to swing momentum enough any team is good enough to win.
The trick is being fit enough to hang in and find your moment to take advantage of it swinging back.
Vs roosters we kept giving away penalties and never let it swing back.

It doesn't take many players being slightly off their game to lose you a match because of a couple extra drops/pens each.

This is what I am frustrated the most about. The silly penalties we continue to give away.

I think we (I) probably haven't appreciated how much Ronnie's loss has had on our team as well.

believe it when you see it aye :):shark:
I am hoping too for consistency for this team

our outside backs need to step up
the forwards need to lay a platform
our energy and effort is crucial this week
support play needs to break open for us

hoping they are dialled in on both ends of the field

looking forward to the match this week

The Bulldogs’ last couple of games have proven that not only can anyone beat anyone, it also shows that form from one week can not be used as a guide to the next week.

2016s 16 game run shouldn’t be the goal. Catching fire at the right time of the season, like Brisbane last season, should be.

This is exactly it. And why I have never understood when people come on here and say "we didn't deserve that win". Like, are you going to say that if we win by 1 point in a GF?
Footy is a week-to-week sport. Forever changing.
We play average through the year and then kick into gear and make/win a GF? Then they have done what they needed to do.
