Match 2026 NRL Round 6 - Cronulla Sutherland Sharks vs Sydney Roosters. 5:30pm, Saturday 11 April @ Optus Stadium, Perth

Match threads
Our discipline seemed to be the biggest issue but we didn’t get much luck
Not sure if tv looked any different - at one stage we had good field position and momentum and ref stopped play because Angus was crouched on back play holding his head. Plays stops he moves hand to his should and jogs into line. Think he made half a break about 30 seconds later

But even crap like that aside we had to stop handing over extra tackles and penalties

Even though I don't agree with what Crichton did, he saw that his team were on the ropes. I know it's not ethical, he's just playing the rules, I see alot of the more experienced players pull that crap. Win at any costs attitude is something we lack.

But, as you said, crap like that does not cause our blokes to drop balls, giving extra sets and penalties.

@bort what was the atmosphere like at the ground? Sounded pretty **** on tv.
Alright for rabbitohs raiders game - both teams had decent numbers of fans but overall crowd was low
Our game, with almost no roosters fans around (that I was seeing) crowd got super bored up cronullas attacking end in second half and stopped watching - stacking beer cups got all the attention

I’d honestly be happier if we got rid of the bunker and the reviews and just went with refs call..
They make mistakes but at least it’s a heat of the moment thing not a “I don’t know what I’m doing I’ll just make it up “ thing

Why did they play the games early? I would have thought play them later.

Pretty sure we had sat game 2 and 3 last two years. Not sure why we got games 1 and 2 this time. May have been a factor but I think WA seniors played Friday evening so that didn’t conflict.

Would have conflicted more with other sports though and other kids sports, so probably was a factor.

Was Blayke penalised for a hip drop on, maybe it was Robson?

Replay at ground I couldn’t see a hip drop

I didn’t watch the game, I had an event on I had to attend. I did glance at my phone when I could and was pleasantly surprised to be up 16-0 at one point and then 22-6 just before halftime. I had to put the phone away then until after the game and was shocked to see the full time score as 34-22 to the Chooks. Wow.

Then I read through the game thread. Sounds like we were **** with a bit of help from the referees getting the Roosters home.

When we lose I just can’t watch the game back so I can’t really comment on anything. Only thing I will say is that’s it’s another display like the Broncos game last year when we couldn’t hold on to a good lead, which is very disappointing.

I think we now have to concede we are not a top four team. We should be but we’re not. Top 4 teams overcome adversity the majority of times. We **** the bed when the pressure is on. There is NO leadership out there. I’m only going by the times the Roosters scored their second half tries, we led 22-18 until the 65th minute and then they score three tries like the Dolphins game. Good teams close out matches in those situations.

We don’t have an ounce of mental toughness. Fitz can bang on all he wants behind closed doors. No matter what he says our players don’t have what it takes to go far in this competition. I think we all need to resign ourselves to this.
