Match 2026 NRL Round 6 - Cronulla Sutherland Sharks vs Sydney Roosters. 5:30pm, Saturday 11 April @ Optus Stadium, Perth

Match threads
The amount of players reported to be injured after the game is staggering. I believe it is along the lines of the following:

Ramien
Hazleton
Nikora
Colquhoun
BHU (head knock?)
Gabrael (reportedly injured in Cup)

So, if we assume all those players are out against the Roosters, this could be our line up:

Kennedy
Katoa
Hiroti
Iro
Stonestreet
Trindall
Hynes
AFB
Brailey
Rudolf
Burns
Wilton
H Puru

Talakai
Kaufusi
Tuks
Berrell
N Puru
Jones

Would that side get the job done against the Roosters?

Still a decent side even if the worst happens. I think Vea’ila would be ahead of Jones, even though Jones is probably playing better. Blake Hosking would be an able substitute if we needed another replacement. Niwhai Puru is still out injured.

If we started to get really tested in the forwards it’d be good to see Fearnley or Faatili get a run.

I imagine half on the injured list will still play though

Huge game this, we're coming off 2 wins and we have the bye the week after, would be fantastic going into it with 3 wins in a row.

Target DCE's side in attack, be ready for the aerial threats and stop the damn offloads. We should be good.

And if we get Atkins, just hope he's in a better mood than yesterday.

Yeah I’d anticipate Brit to be available based on mentions of burner, which gives us a start of

AFB Rudolf
Teig Brit
Burns

Then for four forwards on bench you have Kaufusi Tuks HPuru and if not one of Tommy/Sifa/Colquhoun then we will need to call up a debutant I expect.

Although hopefully one of more of those three names is good to go

Hiroti always plays well in Perth. He’ll replace Jesse and do it well. Gabriel’s timing is not great, every time he gets near a debut he gets injured or it’s the wrong game.

100%

Need to get under their skin a bit. Tedesco is a sook and will spend the whole game crying at the ref.

Be interesting we line up given a few injuries. Its a shame Gabriel is also injured though, but faith in Hiroti to fill in well.

Still a problem how quickly and easy we can just relinquish control of a game. A few times yesterday we did all the hardwork and then it was penalty/6 again into Try. Gotta be better disciplined or learn how to shut down attack when we’re letting them march

I think Hiroti would be playing regardless of Gabriel being injured. He is not ready to come in straight away - unless there was no other option.

Really? Who has he purposefully left out (that deserved to be in the 17)?
He basically ****ed over both Metcalf and Atkinson once they signed elsewhere. Kept DA as a utility but most the time he go a cameo as a forward an LM he just used as 18th man all year.

Neither probably deserved or should have been near the run on but they hardly played any footy for firsts or reggies in those seasons

Wasn’t Trindall the starter before Atkinson even signed at club? So why would Fitz randomly pick Atkinson ahead of him after he’d signed elsewhere if he wasn’t doing it before?

Basically same question for Metcalf. Trindall already established ahead of him before he signed away as Fitz arrived.
Metcalf also signed away so early, he probably didn’t give himself the best chance he to factored into plans through preseason.

What?

You completely ignored what i was saying

He plonked Atkinson on the bench rather than keeping him in reggies. He was little benefit to the team at 14.

Same with Metcalf. Was just 18th man all season.

Not about being infront of anyone. He just completely stalled them once they signed elsewhere. Both players needed stints in cup to keep them ready if needed
