Not arguing about market value. Am talking contribution to results. There are many players who contribute more.
That's not the only factor though. You have to accept to some degree that outside of the elite ones that earn it every week, halves will almost always be overpaid compared to their teammates. That's just how the market values them.
“The floor of his value is there at worst and I'm damn certain Nicho is much better than those guys.” and I 1000% disagree, as he is someone who is supposed be lead this team.
You disagree that Nicho is better than Sullivan/Atkinson/Brooks? I'll just declare an impasse if that's the case.

1000% so impasse it Is. nicho is not a half, blind Freddy can see that.

I really don’t care about what the market is paying. I want halves that will lead us.

I absolutely agree Hynes is not earning his salary. But if you think he's not worth 300k you have no idea what the halves market is.

Sullivan is getting paid 600k to not play first grade.
Atkinson is on about 600k, so is Brooks.

He ain't earning his salary cause we're not playing to his strengths.

He was fast and elusive, had spark. Now we've put muscle and weight on him which has slowed him down.

We restrict him on one side for alot of the attacking too.

One half should be directing the middle with the dummy half, while the other half should be out in the edges with the fullback. Call me old-school, dun care.

So disappointed with tonight’s game. I sincerely like Fitz as our coach, but he’s clearly struggling in getting the players focused and primed for each game. Surely we had to know Souths would come at us hard. Bennett would have demanded it after last week and with Mitchell out they needed to step up.

It wasn’t great that the ref kept blowing the pea out of the whistle and even I got frustrated that he seemed to be only refereeing one team. But like most of us have said all year, we have to be better than that. Our discipline was just terrible.

Hynes and Trindall were awful. Both were like deer in headlights. Our forwards and backs got outmuscled. We had no cohesion which is both strange and ridiculous for a team that has been together for so long.

I honestly don’t know what the answer is. I don’t know if anyone knows. But something has to change. The players and the coach need to take responsibility and be accountable for the way we are playing.

For next week, it looks like Brailey is out. Perhaps Ronnie and Jesse are back in. Whichever way you go, we’re going to struggle if we put in another performance like that.

Pre game Benett said the things Rabbits needed to fix
Virtually , discipline and execution.
What IF the sharks ran hard , tackled hard and didnt get offside , take off heads , drop the ball and make stupid decisions for at least the 1sr 20 minutes of each half ?
What might happen then ?

We’ll never know but if we do all those things correctly, we win. But we just don’t seem to have the grit and determination to succeed. It’s downright embarrassing and I don’t know how the players keep turning up each week and play like ****.

I'll be honest, I checked the scores at the 65 minute mark to see whether we'd be held to 0.

We got butt-raped dry in the first half (speaking of which, did Adam Elliott learn the hooker trade from Lichaa's missus?) and most of it was of our own doing.

One good game, one or two poor games. Rinse & repeat. This is our season so far. Not the makeup of a contender. There's a lot of work to do and it's increasingly obvious that this team is not good enough.
Same cattle, same issues, same results.

We're obviously a lot farther from contention than a Union assistant coach.

36 points conceded. Our average is back up to 27 points per game. Even in this high scoring era, this is absolutely insane.

Maybe Hazo and Kennedy too IF there are better replacements .
Will does try hard but always seems to arrive late when teams go around us every week

True, at least those two arent on that much cash. Uele has practically stolen from the club ski mask and glove

There's gotta be some outstanding youth coming through The Penrith system that are blocked from having a crack 1st grade.
Fullbacks , Centres , Props and Halves

edited :, we should be fine for props once the dead wood is shifted

I think the game plan was to go through the middle. South's identified that early and sent 4 players in with every tackle pushing us back, winning the ruck and really limiting our metres.
Problem is we didn't stray from the game plan and start to spread it early with a lot of passes (how you beat a rushing defence).
I think we stayed with the through the middle plan not because we don't know how to play expansive footy but more when we do that we make a lot of errors normally so held off on it until we were to far gone to change things up. Needed to risk it all earlier when getting dominated in the middle.

This is either a coaching failure to not get the message out earlier or an on field leadership failure not wanting to risk the extra pass or two. Someone needed to speak up and change what we were doing but it didn't happen.

Really disappointing game that should have been a great opportunity to take out a top four hopeful team with a star player out.

We have no backbone in this team.
No leaders to follow when it’s gets tough.
We are basically flat track bullies

A recurring theme this year and in past seasons.
Still made it to two Prelims, but probably as far as we'll ever go with this group.
Although I'm normally rather optimistic when it comes to supporting teams, I fail to see where the spark and improvements will come from.

Call me crazy, but the moment to get back in the contest was around the time JC scored a try that Butler refused to even acknowledge.
About 25 minutes left and a bit of sustained momentum, we could have made a game of it.
Attack was too disjointed for this to happen.

Side note: Just how irritating is Ennis on commentary. We manage a couple of tackles with decent go-forward and he starts babbling about how "Sharks are going to work", Sharks this, Sharks that... Just shut the f*ck up, Mick.

How would we have gone with Latrell and Wighton playing ?
