Normally wabbits putting 40 on the storm would be a sign that they’re a top side and we oughta be concerned. But who knows what the **** is going on this year?

We HAVE to shift around our left edge for this game. Latrell will score 50+ points on his own if we mark Sifa against him.

I’d be even tempted to shift Iro to left wing and swap Sifa and Hirtoi around. Last year I would have simply swapped centres but Iro’s defence this season hasn’t been much better than Sifa’s…

I wouldn't disrupt our team for one position.

Latrell is more a bulldozer than someone nimble like Drinkwater etc.

I'm less worried about Sifa this week than the last two weeks.

So you want Iro left wing, Sifa left centre, Hiroti right centre and Stonetreet right wing?

I think completely changing our edge combinations, including playing Iro on the wing would be a much bigger disaster than leaving Sifa out there. I'd expect Latrell to demolish Hiroti too anyway.

I understand people being worried about Sifa marking Latrell but I don't think it's a bad thing actually. As @apezza said Latrell looks more to bulldoze people rather than run around them and I think he might think twice about doing it to Sifa. I don't think there is anyone else in our team more capable of tackling Latrell than Sifa. I think it's an excellent match up.

Nicho is on that side as well and while he and Sifa missed that horrible play for the Tigers second try, Nicho has been more than capable in defence this year and I reckon the two of them together can help stop Latrell somewhat. Hiroti is pretty solid too.

So if Jesse R needs a week or two more, then we'll have to get by.

Also, our best defense is another 90% completion rate to limit their opportunities.

Give them cheap opportunities and no one will stop them.

Yep.

Which is why I would seriously consider starting Oregon or even Jesse C at prop and have Toby come from the bench.

Not sure why he only came on in the second half but Oregon was brilliant and he ran so strongly. Only got 15 minutes, seemed much more than that.

Double marking Latrell would surely slow him down a little!

Sifa doesn't bulldoze easily, so I am not extra concerned about his defence, just the usual amount

I want him getting Tom's minutes but need him to start matching the workrate on carries for it to happen

Sifa is the best qualified to stand up to Latrell’s physicality, provided he can get in front of him and not just be left posted and run around. Need to work hard from the inside on Walker to stop that left edge getting fed good ball too often.

Unfortunately his reads and I assume instinct to try protect the half a bit hurt him as much as his actual lateral mobility.

Regardless, that edge is deadly against everyone. High completion smart football protects us better than trying to actually stop them in good ball will.
