If Eels can't take him or don't want him and he finds a loophole other clubs should refuse to sign him.Zac Lomax has hired a lawyer to try find a loophole in his release from the Eels & the ongoing 3 year ban from playing for any other nrl team.
Melbourne Storm have approached Lomax about signing him for next season but the Eels told them to **** off - they own him for 3 years.
Lomax has 2 offers from rugby union clubs however Rugby Australia isn't guaranteeing a top of from the 300k he would earn by playing super rugby.
Pretty much Lomax has realised he has completely ****ed up & is now trying to find a way out of the shitstorm he created.
My bad, thought I was posting all of this in the rumour mill lol(just removed this reply from Burns' thread and copied to here where Lomax was also being discussed)

Eels let him dog them and break contract to chase something and he agreed to the terms of the separation. It shouldn't be acceptable in the NRL for him to weasel back out of a broken contract and the agreement around that. Clubs shouldn't support players to do things like that.
Obviously if someone wants to make a good trade* offer to Eels they should entertain that and let him sign somewhere, but that is the original agreement.
Now, if he had spotted a loophole in advance and knew he had a way back going around eels, that would be on them, but I'm assuming he hasn't.
*or transfer fee, although I'd rather not see that become common practice in the NRL as the richer clubs have enough advantages
Yep he got greedy and went off early.I hope Eels stick to their guns
I wrote a while back Eels should have made an offer like $400k to come back, atleast they would have saved some money and got back their rep winger back.
But if they have actually moved on and don’t want him, Storm shouldn’t get a free pick at him. If it wasn’t for 360 I’m sure Lomax would still be on Eels books. 360 falling over isn’t Eels fault, that’s Lomax fault.
NFL tried a similarly bulked up helmet only to eventually decide it made no discernible difference.Assume this headgear is better at protecting the brain somehow?
100% this is the case.Yep he got greedy and went off early.
There is a case to say he did do Eels a bit of a favour by leaving earlier, as it gave them more time to adjust, but I think we all suspect greed was the primary motivator, especially if he is trying to loophole his decision now that it has backfired.
No Blore no EKat would be tough to cover.Won't be surprised if we end up seeing a swap deal, Lomax for Blore.
That's my specialtyLomax seems good at losing money. He will have no problems doing that with a highflying lawyer.
Don't really get this logic tbh. Going forward we'll still have Tricky, Nicho and Blayke in their prime with AFB, Iro, Ronnie with likely others being retained. Honestly think our window is open for at least 3 years.I actually agree. This squad has been together for ages now, it's now or never. This year is our last shot for maybe 2-3 years as we know we'll be losing a few players by the end of this season.
