As bad as our years were, the Sharks were never as bad as the West Tigers. What a joke of a club.
Our players at least stuck solid together, no matter how much of a debacle the front office was. They had 1000 more important reasons they could have refused to play.As bad as our years were, the Sharks were never as bad as the West Tigers. What a joke of a club.
Yeah me too. Though couldn't imagine any of this happening under Fitz.So Benji buckled. Douehi’s back in the 7. Man, if this was Fitz i’d be livid with him.
Hard to say without knowing exactly what happened, which very few people do.So Benji buckled. Douehi’s back in the 7. Man, if this was Fitz i’d be livid with him.
i will never tire of it haroldYou can't tell me you don't enjoy it!

From who? People like Kent?I think there’s enough information out there to have a fair idea of what happened
I get what you’re saying but the undisputed fact is the he chose not to play with his team mates.Hard to say without knowing exactly what happened, which very few people do.
And those 'plodders' end up moving on very good contractsIt's worked for them for over 20 years.
Saved up all the money from the dud players they have atmKodi Nikorima rumored for the Drags next year.
How are they affording all these guys next year? Has someone in Dragons management not read that the tax free exemptions are only for PNG??
This is one of greatest recruitment drives in recent memory.
Hard to imagine it is still tenable long term for him to play under Benjiyep im not entirely buying the narrative how that clubs presenting it
He should have just played there without an issue, maybe had a chat about it after they got towelled if anything.I get what you’re saying but the undisputed fact is the he chose not to play with his team mates.
Everything else comes second in my opinion.

Tbf their structure is terrible. The HB Group are the real issue there, nothing is going to improve until they can somehow get rid of them which is easier said than done.Didn't stop their degenerate fans calling for the Sharks to be relocated - I don't feel sorry for them. I hope they never play finals again and just go broke, **** em. Or just bring back the Maggies and **** off the Tigers
2009-2011 might have felt like a hole we were never gunna get out of at the time but for perspective we had 3 bad years. That isn't very long over the course of a player generation or the existence of a club. Rebuilds can take 5+ years
Without those 3 bad years we might not have become the club we did or get the staff in place (Flanno, Lyall ect.) to eventually win a comp in 2016.
We might have just continued along as a somewhat likable mid table team that played finals here and there for instance and accepted that as good enough because our results were decent and we kept our nose out of the paper and paid our bills.
I haven't forgot about 2014 either btw - that was a weird year but it's been gravy since. The bad years forced us to face some tough realities in the public eye, it forced us to make long term structural and cultural changes or fold trying.
Tigers been a joke almost 20 years, a rebuild shouldn't take 2 decades unless your club is inherently flawed (which they are). The Sharks used the bad times as a catalyst for change. The Tigers use the bad times as a crux, it's part of their identity. They can't face the issues or they don't know how to address them. The culture stinks and culture can be hard to change - you need the right people to take that step.
This **** just wouldn't happen at the Sharks, not anymore. If it did it probably wouldn't be out in the public within hours driving an absolute gossip train of media and fan speculation and criticism. We would nip it in the bud
We can be proud of where the club and the people who represent it are at because we know where we have had to come up from. I love the fact their are no embarrassing or disgusting scandals or off field dramas, we have taken our survival and finances into our own hands more or less and our players and coaching staff all seem like stand up good people that we can support and get behind.
Even the Trindall thing a few years ago which was a rare off field drama the club and player handled it about as well as could be asked and it's now somewhat of a feel good story. It's the sorta thing that would have melted a piss weak club like the Tigers.

But yeah agree with everything you've said about us, we've been stable for a long time now.
