Peter Vlandy's surely can't be serious in trying to globalise & expand the game into Europe before expanding more teams into Australia first haha. He's got to try expand grassroots RL around here first aswelll before worrying about more global teams in the NRL. Get better & fairer referees aswell 1st haha.

They are just cleaning house from Flanno's time there as a consultant and then head coach.

Surprising how many players are still going to Super League with Perth entering, and PNG next season.
Obviously Bears not prepared to fork out decent contacts for too many guys barely making NRL teams vs if they can still get good offers from overseas with better chance to start.

Yeah, it'd be a pretty tough sell to the fans for Mal if he was picking up Dragons players. Even if some of them should be better than they have been.

I haven't heard any new signings for Pertth since they green-lit the care package..?

I'm sure we could come up with some great additional sponsorship ideas.

In NZ, Pilot could sponsor a plug for every 'six-again'.
In Australia, for every successful try.

Birdseye could sponsor captains challenges.

BandAid could just sponsor Cam.

When you think about it, the $5.3b wasn't enough for this cash cow!

All contracts are supposed to have a two week period between when they are received by NRL club and announced as official by club (the club not retaining the club I believe can waive this period, although most times neither club probably worries about that)

Looks like we are at bang on two weeks since it was announced, but I imagine every single contract they were making progress with suddenly went back to the drawing board with money hungry managers (not that the players wouldn't also like more money).
But anything confirmed over the next week after the changes would still be a week away from being announced.

Access to more money may have also brought other players into their sights they thought they couldn't get, which may slow down some of the negotiations they had ongoing, with lesser players.

Humphreys I believe was widely rumoured to be done deal but hasn't been formally announced yet months later...

Think they have 20 players signed to top 30 currently, but would be having to run Apa Twidle or Nick Meaney at 6

(adding in: just saw Dylan Walker tried to get a deal with Perth but 'they weren't interested' - so they are being discerning still, as I'd have thought he'd be a fine signing. Maybe would have been if he had lowered asking price, doesn't touch on if that was a factor)

The real question is, will it be the NRL themselves, or Kayo, who sign up the forum to handle their partnerships?

Hmm, Walker seems the right kind of get, for sure. Possibly asking too much money, though as an older journeyman (looking for a job?) you wouldn't think he'd be too fussy.

It would be a pretty tough situation if the Bears still couldn't get their roster sorted out with that help. Though the promise of more money in the salary cap only helps PNG more.

If Braith an a few other conflicted commentators are out, we have a few who could fill the seat, so I'm leaning towards Kayo.

How useful the money is now, vs if it was from the start, is a massive difference. Bears have missed out on a lot of signings and extra 500k could have got two or three of
