I think he’s still sour because Flanno didn’t give him that upgrade he wanted in 2017 and instead we swapped him for Moylan

I would go one step further and suggest that he tanked that year once the upgrade wasn't on the table

100% he did.
Thats what put him “on the nose” for me.
He was salty that Chad negotiated a better deal, but salary cap went up and Chads new deal was a few years after his. It was timing and we needed to retain other players at that time
He definitely tanked it.
There was people in the league signing much bigger contracts than Chad.
I’ve always thought Jimmy wanted those contracts

I also get the feeling that Flanno was looking after his own pride a bit in that exchange too.
A bit like “you can’t hamstring me into a renegotiation of your contract”

Maloney would probably tell you he's the reason Cleary is the player he is today. Flog.
People say no other club would sign Holdsworth but that has literally happened to Maloney.

I think people don’t understand what being a good coach is. They see a good player and assume it transfers to coaching.
It doesn’t. Maloney is at best a ring in you bring in for an off season. That’s it

Maloney was a great player. He seems fairly toxic, though. Not someone you want hanging around on a consistent basis.

You don’t let someone of his calibre that knows how to win premierships go unless there is something simmering there.
Good block of footy coming up for Sharks which could set us up perfectly for the finals.
