I don’t follow footballers on social media so I have no idea what any of them have said, but since when are personal attacks for being a ******** deemed unnecessary?

Turuva's post was about him leaving for money, calling him greedy basically, its a bit hypocritical when he did that himself leaving Penrith.
If it had been about supporting benji that would be different.

He's also 19. The people who are supposed to advise him have let him down and created this shitstorm.

I don't have an issue with players wanting him out of the team and making it known they support Benji but a bunch of grown men being petty and hostile towards a teenage work colleague just ain't it in my opinion.

Ultimately Galvin has done nothing wrong. Sure the club would be disappointed but they actually have just proved how unprofessional as an organisation they are.

That's an interesting take.

I actually feel the complete opposite.

(Apart from the two players on social media. I don't believe they should have done that).

Tigers has been taken for a ride for years now with player managers using them to get ridiculous get out clauses for players and then getting them out when it suits by creating a fuss.

They are standing up for themselves by not letting a player manager (via his 19yo client) create a hissy fit to break contract.

Good on them.

He’s done nothing wrong to an extent but he could have done this so much better.

Honestly I think an upgraded deal with just a one year extension would have been ideal. He learns from Api, Luai and Benji - and will be 22/23 for his next deal with less scrutiny for his next contract

Or he even just says I do want to see what's available come November 1, I will of course continue discussions with you (even if that's a lie) and keen to discuss options, but only really at that time.

He may have done nothing wrong, but he's done nothing well.

This stinks of talks behind closed doors and wanting a release. Which, in that case, he kind of has done something wrong.
Although not sure the rules preclude a manager or player from talking to clubs, and more clubs just can't approach the other way around. It shouldn't be able to get to this stage of confidence before Nov 1 though.

Yep. That’s a ****ing dumb take on it from Turuva – Galvin knocked back over $5 million, surely he isn’t getting more than that where ever he ends up. If it was simply a money thing I don’t think any of his teammates would begrudge him moving on to earn more elsewhere. They have this shits with the way he went about it, being a **** teammate. I guess Turuva is one of those people who know they are angry, but aren’t quite smart enough to say why.

I don't mind some of the Face-to-face with Yvonne Samson as well
Yeah is that the one which Jake Duke does as well?

Agree that’s pretty good. I can’t stand NRL 360, it’s just gossip journalists and Gordon Tallis stuttering. They talk about the same teams, same bs every night

100% footy is good but that’s on 9

Yep. That's the one.

Can't stand Tallus on 360. It's like his role is just to disagree with any argument just to stir things up

Yeah he’s also ****ing everywhere can’t get away from him. On so many Fox shows then also they get him calling quite a few on the radio + talk shows on radio, does my head in

I've actually spoken to him (years ago - when he was playing) and he was a top bloke to talk to.

Just turns into a tosser in the media.

Gordie is a great bloke. Met him on the drink one night back when he used to commentate games for Fox with Andy Raymond. He shouted a thousand Crown Lagers over a few hours until Raymond copped a smack in the mouth from another lad in the toilets and then it was time to go.

As for NRL 360, I haven’t watched that in 5 years or more. I feel like I haven’t watched it since the golden year of 2016, but I’m not sure if it was called 360 back and then or not. But I know Kent was on because I remember him picking us to win it in 2016.

It's been reported previously (before all this) that he's asked for a release on a couple of occasions, so that he wants out shouldn't have been a surprise.

What's being reported is still murky, but it doesn't seem like he has recently asked for a release and he certainly didn't knock on management's door and ask for more money or a contract extension. Sounds like he was happy to see out his contract and move on (maybe until at least he signed with someone post Nov 1 and then he'd agitate for a release).

Not sure what the Tigers' motivation was in offering him a new deal 18 months out when they pretty much knew he wouldn't accept. Maybe they thought he'd be blown away by the money and stay, or maybe they knew what his reaction would be and knew they'd be able to spin it?
