Former Kangaroos and Dragons forward Trent Merrin has been charged with stealing $140,000 worth of cryptocurrency after allegedly using deceptive means to transfer the funds from a victim’s account.

Merrin, who retired from the NRL in 2021 after 250 first grade games, was arrested at his home in the Shellharbour region on Tuesday morning, one year after police began investigations into the alleged theft from a 29-year-old man’s cryptocurrency account.

Who will be some of the first players announced by the bears?

My guess is that some of the below names will be announced in the next month or so.

Griffin Neame
Toby Sexton
Sione Katoa
Rueben Garrick
Zach Dochar-Clay
Connor Tracey
Matt Burton
Cam Mciness
Jesse Arthurs
Tom Jenkins
Tyran Wishart
Billy Walters
Sean Keppie
Angus Crighton
Dylan Walker
Toby, Sione, Connor, Matt, Angus, Cam ? would be decent pick ups, along with a few younger guys. A while ago I thought Cam would be a great pick up and captain for them, but not so sure now. Could do worse than Wishart, Clay, Kewpie, Garrick etc. Would steer clear of Walker tho.

We've come a long way from stealing speakers

Weren’t we always told supposedly he hated the broncos for overlooking him or something
Don’t think he hated them, just played with a little extra motivation against them.

A good job with a good paycheck makes all those old grudges fade away.

Teams that score a try could be made to kick off to restart play in 2026 in one of the biggest rule changes that the NRL has contemplated recently to avoid lopsided results.

Definitely going to see fewer penalty goals if that happens I think. Part of the incentive of taking the two is getting the ball back.
