I thought he was strong last week starting. Who would you have starting with OK?
I will take your word for it, I didn’t watch much of the game at all.

Maybe hazelton, not sure to be honest. I just don’t really rate Toby, so maybe that’s why I feel like it could be a better team.

Would be happy to see Toby do well though.

Toby has certainly had his struggles but I thought he was back to his best last week. Might change when Fitz thinks Hazleton has had a good break - this may happen after the bye.

I‘ve not given up on Toby, I think he can still be a good asset for this team. I am hoping when AFB arrives all our forwards will go up another notch again.

Hope you’re right Chadley …
Not really sold on Toby yet, been a while since he’s been at his best

Toby definitely plays at a higher tempo than hazelton which is good in todays game. I will watch the game this week and see how he goes.

He is a great culture guy for the team, so if he can pick up his game starting in the front row, it will be great for the whole team.

Toby def had his ups and downs but opening last week was right up there with his best.
Keep that going and he’s back in asset territory

I feel terrible for Atkinson, he didn’t do anything wrong and he probably deserves to still be in first grade, but it was clear after last week that Trindall needed to be back in. Footy’s harsh sometimes.

This is the nature of being a fringe player, even when you play well you don't have a secure locked down spot but all the same being called upon when needed is part of your job. He did a good job and he didn't make any mistakes, we could not have asked much more of him.

Look at it this way though a few months ago Dan might not have been expecting any FG game time at all
But now he has shown he's got what it takes and has a genuine future in the NRL and will be even more hungry

He seems to be a sensible young guy with a good attitude, he should go back to cup with more confidence and work on some things like his passing game and keep watching Nicho & Tricky run around in firsts and learn what he can from them.

The pecking order is real and Tricky offers a little more on the ball but Dan will be needed again if Nicho plays Origin or is injured.

Really? I don’t see it as being that bad. Who are the middles you think are poor?
Kaufusi and Kenny Bromwich struggle for impact in the middle, both have been shoehorned into this role. Nicholls is a bit of a plodder, but has scored a few lately. Kerr is in some good form, but doesn't have a big motor. Ray Stone is a tackle bot who won't make big impact up the middle.

I wouldn't trade any of them for any of ours. If we turn up like last week with defensive intensity, our middles will dominate.

We’ve been running four forwards all year with great success. Don’t know why you’d want to change it
Aside from the 42-0 loss and the loss to the Tigers.

Tuku got 10 minutes last week, Hunt 15 mins the previous week. We could easily cover that among the other 3 interchange players.

Atkinson is the perfect sub who can cover 1/3/4/6/7/9 well, and 2/5/13 if needed. Can cover an injury, or put pressure on a starting player to perform.

Sifa can cover 3/4/11/12 directly and indirectly 1 by moving other backs.
Williams covers 13, allowing Cam to indirectly cover 9/6/7.

If we couldn't cover those positions in game I'd agree with you.

I don't think the utility coverage is worth losing an impact forward for our side which has been utilising them so well. The last thing any team wants after we've bashed them off the bench since the 30th minute is to deal with a fresh Tuks/BHU in the 50th.

I think Dan has more to gain playing 80 minutes as a half consistently in cup personally.

Thanks mate, yes I see what you mean. I’m more worried about their backs, especially Hamiso but I guess if we get on top in the forwards they’ll have no room to move.

Agree with all of that. Honestly if all of our middles play to their ability we should be making at least 60m a set in the second half

Yeah that's not to say they aren't dangerous. Hammer, Nikorima and JMK all have the ability to tear us open, and Herbie/Bostock/Isaako can find the line.

If we complete high and defend with energy like last week we'll limit their chances enough to win.

If we trun up last week every week, we can beat any team. I hope both the coaching staff and the players learnt from the past few weeks.

Still don't think we can beat the 'riff if they play at their best. Hopefully we'd get closer than 42 though!

Its starting to become an inevitable feeling that, like last year and the years before, ourselves and everyone else are simply competing for the right to lose to Penrith in the Grand Final. They’re nowhere near their best and missing key players and they still feel a level ahead of everyone else.

They're not as consistent as previous years but at their best yeah, I agree.
