So manority should be back today and hopefully we will see some content
Is that a sorority for men?

Aside from trusting almost nothing that I see on ZT... I'd say in this article they are just guessing. There are several players who aren't even listed.

10 weeks mandatory leave. Today would be the final day, so I guess it's possible they come back one day early. More likely tomorrow imo.

Tomorrow is also 13 weeks from the Sharks first pre-season game. Apparently there is a rule about players completing 13 weeks training before playing a trial, so anyone who isn't back by tomorrow (the rep guys) you are unlikely to see suit up in the first trial game.

Don’t usually have a lot of time for Brent Read - but his article in tomorrows DT and online now - is a good one .

The best bit for mine - if Gus wanted a secret meeting - use your own office ..

Not wrong

Though clubs want a secret meeting, players and agents want a free feed

I haven't posted on here in a long time, well since our inglorious exit from the finals...again

But I wanted to just throw some things out and see , if any , the response.

Soo a couple of hears ago, we fired a very popular and proven coach, well maybe not 1st grade success, but he had form;

He was fired because , the Sharks fell at the finals, and then Front Office hires Fitz this defence guru , a wunderkind, supposedly resposible for hiding a broken cronk against the merciless Melbourne storm , a 12 on 13 masterclass

I say this because, well the Sharks have fallen out of the finals epically , 2 seasons in a row, with the same team, the same team that will be there next season, and as far as I know the same assistant coaches.

My point of all this is, do we really think , the same team , and basically a lot who were under bomber too, will suddenly gain extra pounds of muscle , or a new skill, or more tackling efficiency?

I get that there are always reasons/excuses, this guy was injured or this player was in a form slump, but my point is, this is on the coach, you get paid top $ because there is a certain expectation that is required.

I may be unaware of somebody on this forum who knows somebody who knows somebody, but are there any rumblings from the front office that , hey things are not going to plan, or are they sitting pat and expect their bluff will payoff next finals

Being a sharks supporter is hard , no we are not perpetual cellar dwellers, but we do not really make a mark either, I would like, sometime this century, ( and this maybe selfish seeing the porch light was turned off n all ) , that they make a mark, are seen as threats, like real sharks are!

I’m not one to bang on with a long reply so I’ll just say of course players can improve.

We have quite a lot around that 100 game mark many say you’re not a proper NRL player until (used to say 50!).
Concerning signs exist for sure, but certainly a lot of capacity to improve

Well thank you for replyng, and this is the optimism I was looking for, straight forward, short and to the point, well I will check back with you next season haha

You would know more about the threshold for holding a player accountable or not , so I will bow to your wisdom and hope you are right.

Plenty of guys I’m critical of, although some with some mitigating excuses, but I think we have quite a few on the cusp of going to another level (mostly consistency of their good work).

But 2024 is the year to do it or Fitz probably needs to start looking outside more

Wow, it's like they waited for all the main squad to be there. Outrageous.

I think your post is a good one on several fronts. I suspect there will be disquiet internally from decisionmakers, sponsors etc , come next seasons end, if we don't progress at least to week 2 of the finals. Jurys out for mine, but i think we are well set up, just need to try and add several jigsaw pieces by the deadline on the run home, to continue the build.. No excuses heading into 2025, which should be a realistic chance of the Big Show.

Need to switch the team up a bit, either recruit or give emerging talent a shot. All for keeping a pack together and building, but i dont think we should be re-signing and keeping every single player, hoping for them and the team to improve. Panthers, in the 3 yrs before 2020 kept falling short in the finals, they also let players go, players who were experienced, players who played rep, and players who came through their own system. Need to make some changes or keep getting the same results

Anyone up for arm wrestling Rodwell?

For anyone wondering…

Pic #2 is Fa’atili
Kid in the back of pick #5 and #6 is Ison
Guy high-fiving Hiroti is Riolo
Pic before the Toby one of 3 guys running with Iro. Those three are Riolo, Taukamo and Waitere.
Final pic is O’Kane

Might be some others I missed

Hope O'Kane kills it, think he's got something to offer in top grade for the future
