So from now on I expect anyone tackled on the last, if they didn't know it was the last, to be given another go.
It’s 6 more and you didn’t realise so you kicked? No worries bud, have the ball back

Agree, it felt that way with the two times we were penalised for holding down when Brailey was near the ruck, it had the tip sheet feeling for sure
One of the times we got done for set restart was basically just because DCE asked for it. Wasn’t a particularly bad tackle but he got up with some carry on at ref so ref just blew it. Both teams did a bunch of tackles worse than that

I think with Koula throwing the ball away, the issue was that Klein blew his whistle indicating a turn-over, so it was fair enough for Koula to chuck it away. Maybe Klein heard the call late that the ball was touched? Still a shambles.

Who made a late call that it was touched? Not him, bunker didn't review... did touchies call it?
I don't actually expect you to know (although great if you do) but touchies don't call that kind of thing typically...

Yeah you're right, most likely it was Klein who saw the touch during the charge-down, not the touchie, so he probably just got confused.

In his defence, it's a pretty rare event for a kick to get charged down like that 20m out from the line, it's not in the normal set of things you'd expect to happen, I can see how it could take him an extra couple of seconds to process. In the end, he probably got the call right.

It was the rest of the penalties that didn't make sense.

We weren’t allowed to touch the ball for a big part of the second half which tanked our energy levels.
Partially our fault, partially decent (not great, fortunately) play by Manly, partially ref - but we turned up in D during this period so even though it ruined our whole second half I’m not too critical
True. Yes it is what we do off the ball in thr game. our defence was jumping out of our line . though we should be able to control our part.
our goal line defence was better. I do think the manly try that WK tried to stop, wasn’t a try. he stopped it in my view and gave it his all. i did notice that Nicho was everywhere, I think he needs to tone it back a bit, be patient and pick his moments

Klein never signaled nor voiced 6 again , Kola never heard him nor seen the signal or even if he got it by ESP , because he threw the ball away . Klein was making it up on the hoof , some of the stuff he was giving penalties and 6 agains against us for were baffling .
Like when Brailey got called for flopping , now i've got no problem with it but i see that in 50% of tackles and it's never called .
We done some defending in that second half and if anybody has doubts about our players commitment to defence that effort should have dispelled it , they just need to keep replicating that effort .

Probably our next set with the ball after this there was a pretty blatant facial from Keppie which 100% should have been a penalty, but apparently that was okay.

Not a flop but one of their guys, maybe Bullhemor, made a tackle started to stand up then threw himself back down onto the other tackler and our player again. I thought that one was a worse ruck effort than pretty much anything that did get called.
Hell the one DCE got just because he sooked for it, we were much slower like two tackles later and no whistle on that one.

At least we didn't get anyone called for milking while their leg was being held up in the air this week...

In terms of handling errors, the only one that annoyed me was when Wade threw the crash play to Teig who was never going to catch it.

Low % plays like that should not be done when your trying to close the game out.
Yeah terrible pass. Hilarious some are having a go at Tieg for that drop.

"Gotta count to 10 before I call full time." - Klein. He's a lunatic.

I think that is due to the fiasco last year with the Cowboys v Tigers game so that a challenge can happen before the full time whistle blows.

As much as I did not like Klein's refereeing yesterday, I think that is an NRL directive.

Pretty sure they've had to do that since Wests were ripped off last year.

And pretty sure Klein was the one who ripped them off. He was the bunker official in that game. He's not a great ref to say the least.
