Can't remember if I posted this already. Can't see it in this thread.

A few BIG suspensions in junior footy in Brissy over the last few weeks.

- u12 player grabbed the ref --> 12 months
- handful of players ran off the bench to join a brawl --> 12 months
- u18 player decked the touchie --> 30 years

QRL have added a bunch of auto suspensions this year too for juniors and seniors. E.g. swearing at a ref is automatic 2 weeks.

Pretty much old news now but for those that have missed the update on Dale and Williams (source: NRL.com). At least they both won't require surgery.

Sharks skipper Dale Finucane suffered a medial ligament strain against the Raiders in Magic Round and is set to miss 4-6 weeks.

Finucane will not require surgery on the knee.

Sharks team-mate Jack Williams dislocated his shoulder in the same game and is set for a six-week stint on the sideline but surgery is not required.

FOX

Players outside of the Top 30 are now free to be picked to play NRL and there’s some exciting talent knocking on the door of an opportunity.

A few clubs will dive straight into their wider squads this week with train-and-trialer Nu Brown set to make his club debut for the Tigers, while the Roosters are also a chance of handing an NRL debut to workhorse prop Terrell May.

As the season goes on, clubs will start to dip deeper into their playing stocks, just as they did last year.

So who should fans keep an eye on?

Foxsports.com.au has the players either in line for an NRL call up or that are at the very least on the radar for a future debut.

SHARKS
Kayal Iro
is one to keep an eye on. The 22-year-old is the son of Kevin, who played 34 Tests for New Zealand and nephew of Tony, a former Warriors coach. Iro, a former junior Kiwi, came through the Warriors system before joining the Knights’ under 20s squad in 2020. He linked up with the Sharks last season and bounced between NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg. This year he’s emerged as one of Newtown’s most dangerous players averaging 169 running metres and four tackle busts per game. He also sits second overall in the competition for post contact metres. Iro’s most recent performance consisted of a try, three try assists, three linebreaks, one linebreak assist, nine tackle busts and 268 running metres. Iro is predominantly a centre but has spent time on the wing and in the second row.

Iro looks very exciting. I think we could be okay for centre even if we did shift Talakai back to forwards next year.
Ramien Tracey Iro (and hopefully) Ferris

Watch other players NSW Cup highlights and they are littered with Iro starting or finishing them.

Just checked the injury tolls for each club on NRL website. All clubs are starting to get a bit of a list except Penrith - Nil Injuries. Not a bad effort by them.

They haven't had much, To'o was a big one for a bit but very well covered. Leota I think was out for a while. A few other little ones here and there.

Cows have had a pretty straight forward run too. Now JT for a week or two and Feltd for a bit but other than that not too much disruption, Hammer was out for a bit but Drinkwater was an even better replacement as it turns out, which frees up Hammer to replace Feltd
