Huge over reaction
Caps is about to T off.
I reckon I can see the steam coming from his ears all the way over from Perth!

I’ll tell you what thou. Just about EVERY RL related site has jumped on this verdict and have all run a story quickly.

So 4 weeks for something picked up on the game mics. Not from a complaint from a player or even a ref at the time?

Surely given these circumstances a fine and apology (even a suspended sentence) would have sent the same message to the public that it's not tolerated.

I agree.
A heavy fine and public apology sounds like a fair punishment and maybe some NRL based community service.
I guess the NRL felt like they needed to make a stronger statement so have come down heavy.

That's it? Gosh most people who use the term don't even use it as a slur. It didn't deserve a single game missed. Fine him and move on.

Players have been repeatedly warned about using derogatory language and Slurs on the field. Including his own Captain being punished in the past.

He was stupid enough to ignore that so pays the consequence.

They were always going to come down hard on him... Rugby League is too woke and inclusive (unless you don't agree with them) to not react.

Montoya should have said that he when he was lying on the ground he thought he looked like a bundle of sticks.

Welcome to V’Landys ball 2022, where snorting coke gets you 0 games and using a nasty word gets you 4.

Don't forget scoffing a mates shoe!
Mr apezza, let me tell you a story. In nineteen-seventy-nine I ticketed a brown Dodge Diplomat for parking in a Church zone. That fine was never paid, and since then that scofflaw has piled up more parking tickets than anyone in New York City Brisbane.

You were in the parking police brigade Bort? I've often wondered how people in those positions handle the obvious abuse that comes with the job. I assume you have left the profession now?
