It's been mentioned a few times but Riccio also brought it up on SEN Radio today that the Sharks had the Flu run through the team massively before the Broncos game.

Talakai was bed ridden most of the week leading up.

I know you can play it's not an excuse card but when you've had a bad flu it really knocks you around, so that really explain how lethargic alot of the players looked. Factor in the 3 games in 11 days too.

I don’t, we had two wins against other top 4 aspiring teams which theoretically should put us ahead yet we’ve dropped games against a team running 14th & another team who won’t finish the year in the top 8, those two good wins have been levelled out.

Brisbane are playing well, I think they're a chance at finishing in the 8.

Him and Hynes would be a seriously amazing halves pairing.

Honestly i think Chad and Hynes would of worked pretty bloody well also.
(will admit i was one to bag him last year and was stoked he left the club) but he has seriously helped turned that cowboys team around massively.

How great would it be if both Souths and Easts missed the finals?!
Won't happen i don't think. There are really only 8/9 decent teams this year.

1. panthers -
2. storm
3. cowboys
4. sharks
5. eels
6. broncos
7. rabbits
8. roosters
9. manly
10. dragons
11. warriors
12. titans
13. tigers
14. raiders
15. dogs
16. knights

the teams below manly imo won't cause any problems. i think the current top 8 is pretty set with manly the only real threat to any of those teams.
the teams below will have some good games throughout the year but i don't see any of them going on a run to the finals.

If fifita medically retired we could of got him i reckon.
He wanted to go to Brisbane which is why he tried to squeeze a fourth year out us, to make it worth his while.

Would you have been comfortable signing him for four? I wouldn't.

I think Manly will do well again this year. I agree there are probably only 8/9, but on form, the spots from 6-10 are really open. Just depends if those top teams find their next level or continue to dwindle.

Fifita injured his throat months after Reynolds had signed with Broncos.
So unless you mean earlier than last season, or alternately he could have left for England, the timelines for that don't work.

We haven't seen the best of Manly yet. Turbo will likely find form to bully the bottom sides and keep them close with middle sides so their for and against probably ends up strong. Schuster is back on park now so they actually have their great pair of edges in action.
A bit of juggling to do in centres/wings to find best fits but forward pack is strong.
Wouldn't blow me away if they finished something like 5th or 6th, not really able to beat sides above them but putting big scores on many sides below them.

Can’t see it H, lots of games to go, they’ve just beaten the dogs, who led that game for 60 odd minutes.
They beat us last week cause we decided to throw up a game from what we through up the past few seasons (I thought we wouldn’t do that this season) & they beat a Rabbits sides last night that most teams would have beaten based off that performance.
They’ll (Broncos) get caught out & further exposed as the season goes on.

I don't disagree, it's just so hard to say when you see a team like the Broncos turn things around. The dogs, knights, and raiders have teams that should be doing better. Arguably the warriors and dragons, too. Definitely Manly, roosters and rabbits.
How far are they from pulling it together and going on a run?

Knights have solid pack and solid backs but their spine if frail.
Both halves are okay but need someone else with them - Clifford has 63 games under his belt but for a lot of that I think he has played disappointing. Often struggled for Cows. Clune only has 32 games but looks like a role players 7 who makes your gun 6s life easier. You can't have two halves that rely on the other half being a lot better to go well themselves.
Randall is doing decent considering he wasn't really even meant to play. Ponga is good when he is good but I don't think needs the pressure.
