Sounds strange if I say this is a big game.

But it is.

This is actually a test of our mindset, attitude and Fitz's ability to motivate.

Ask any layman in the street who knows a little bit about Rugby League and they would say Sharks by at least 40. HB will agree with this! :p

But we all know that in a competition such as the NRL anything can happen on the day and results can be different to what we all think.

The Tigers at the moment are a bit of a confused rabble. The coach is under serious pressure, they have a halfback who is obviously not happy and is not succeeding at leading his team around the park and a pack of the most insipid forwards the NRL has ever seen.

But there is always a chance that a more fancied team can be beaten if they are not quite on their game.

Last week, if it weren't for some luck and a drop ball, the Tigers would have had 2 points in the bag.

However, I expect an unchanged lineup from Fitz 1-17 and I do expect him to have us ready for this game.

Agree mate. This is a test for us.

I dont care the final scoreline (obviously we need to win) but how we play.

We need to be continuously improving.

Play Newtown against this mob, will only win by 40 instead of 100 but we'll be rested for Melbourne.

We're paying $1.12, should be $1.0000005.

We really need to make a big statement against this mob.

It will prove if we truely have come a long way (which we look like we have), or if we are the same old same Cronulla in dropping games we should never drop (eg Dogs last year, and a few others).

I truely think that we need to win big to make a proper statement.
If we only just win (or worse, lose), then we don’t deserve to be considered contenders IMHO as the top teams will cream these guys and take a good chunk of For and against along the way.
We REALLY need to do that.

No complacency!

The tigers are just as likely to bounce back by running around like chooks without heads, confusing everybody and somehow racking up 40 points to our 30.

Only problem with all this WS is that expectations are sometimes a big killer and even if we win but only score around 20-24 points some pundits will think we don't belong with the big boys. This is a preposterous thought of course.

But consider this. Last Sunday, while both Storm and the Eels were expected to win, I don't think they were expected to win by so many - this has made the so called experts fawn all over them and put them on that pedestal.

Like I said though, I think Fitz is way too smart for all of this and will have us primed.

Let the experts fawn over the big poppies whilst we slowly come up from behind and pull their pants down.

Actually Sharks have been getting big wraps from most of the media for a change. Well deserved mind you.

i dont care how many points we score this game, i care about how many they score
Im greedy
I not only want to score 40+
I want us to keep them to 0

Basically make a statement to rhe league that mot only can we score heaps, but also that weve been able to keep our opponents to 0 for 2 weeks running.

Get confidence in attack and defense soaring before we play Melbourne next week

I was going to suggest we play with 11 men and the tigers pick our players and positions

This is why Fitz stacked our squad with utility players and Talakai has the strength and girth of 2 men

Either way if we don't end at least 2 careers at the Tigers this weekend we haven't put enough points on the board. Madge is a good guy let's show him some mercy and get him out of that club now.

Last years score would be acceptable but this time without the 20 against us

I'd rather them be closer to 0 than us be closer to 40
A 24 nil or similar would just fine with me, obviously happy for us to score more.

We rarely put teams to the sword when we are meant to or we take the foot off the gas if we have a decent lead.

I’d like us to NOT do either of those and run up a big score and play the full 80 against the Tigers and keep them to a 1 digit (preferably 0) score.

I’d hope that Fitz has the boys primed and ready to do some damage but not arrogant or cocky as by that could lead to the tigers pulling our shorts down with a loss or close game even and we should be far better than that.
