Do you really think this happens or is this a bit of a myth?

I think its more the parents of some of these kids that's the problem. Watching how some of them carry on from the sidelines is ridiculous.
Agree, some parents are disgraceful and their kids really have very little hope unfortunately.

This will fn do me.

MRC manager Luke Patten revealed that the committee had considered whether Asofa-Solomona could be charged with a crusher, a head slam or dangerous contact and cleared him of all three offences

But Dale failed in his duty of care in his accidental head clash.

Don't read the full article. It will make you as mad as me.

“There might be possible minor contact at the end of the tackle with Nelson’s forearm, possibly with the neck or chin area, but that it was only minor contact.

“It was a forceful tackle which unfortunately resulted in Egan’s head going into the ground but these were all the things we considered when we ruled that this actually incident was NFA [no further action] for us.”

Jesus Christ. Dale should appeal to the Arbitration of Sport, the High Court or someone.

You're right but I just can't get Dale's suspension out of my mind. It just does not make any sense on any level

I just hope they come out at the end of the season after a review of their decisions this year and say they got it wrong. Don't need an apology or anyone sacked just admit they stuffed up. Give me something!!!

Part of coaching is teaching the rules. For u15 and down, that includes the rules that there is no lifting, any contact above the armpits is a high tackle, and you can’t jersey sling, or ankle tap. I can tell you for sure and certain that most players we play against either don’t know this, or flat out ignore it - and I reckon the amount of parents who know these rules (outside of my own team) is less than 5%.

My team don’t have perfect technique, and tackle high sometimes - but they don’t lift, they don’t jersey sling, and they all know that those things are not acceptable either at training or in games. Worst thing we’ve done in a tackle all year is grab a kid’s foot and lift it - but it was pinged straight away

I even listened to him on the NRL site. He really went to great lengths explaining why they did not charge him. All BS of course. What a farce!

This reminded me of the magic bullet theory in the movie JFK.

I didn't know about the ankle tap rule in the under 15s.

me neither
There are two players in my team who consistently cop illegal shots. My son, plus our best middle (who is really good, but short). He gets hit high on about half his hit-ups. I reckon I could make a 30 minute highlight video of these two copping illegal shots this season that were not penalised.
