Kiwis i think will go with

1. DWZ
2. Mulitalo
3. Hiku
4. Manu
5. Rapana
6. Brown
7. Hughes
8. Fisher-Harris
9. Smith
10. Nelson
11. Pappali'i
12. K Bromwich
13. Tapine

14. J Bromwich
15. Liu
16. Riki
17. Foran

18. Sorrenson
19. Niukore
20. Nikora
21. Neame
22. Muamalo
23. TMM
24. Leota
25. Clark

There bench is a huge worry imo. No JWH is a huge loss for them. Think Remis Smith also would of been included if fit.

No Tohu Harris, Harawira-Naera is a strange one also.

Laughing that Johnson didnt even make the squad. That bloke just needs to **** off and retire the pretender.
I think J Brom starts and NAS comes off bench.

I'd be pretty tempted to start Manu at 1 also. Wings of Ronnie and either DWZ or Rapana, maybe one of them or Niukore at centre.
Manu at fullback just so attractive sniffing around that pack.

Could see Leota being in side, not sure Liu would be ahead of him.
For your 16 I'd maybe go Sorensen as you already have 2 80 minute edges starting and he can fill middle or edge, but Riki not a bad shout, could also go Niukore there if you don't use him in side as he can cover wider if needed. Nikora I wouldn't pick but he could get picked.

Yeah I agree with Manu in the 1 jersey actually. Good point.
How you put back 5 is probably the best spread of players but I think Manu at 1 increases their overall strength enough giving a little away in the centres is worth it

Manu plays all over the field when he's in the 1, so would definitely agree

Happy for Scotty, been too long since we've seen a Sorenson in the kiwi jersey.

Toa Samoa squad:

Anthony Milford (Knights)
Bunty Afoa (Warriors)
Chanel Harris-Tavita (Warriors)
Charlie Staines (Panthers)
David Nofoaluma (West Tigers)
Francis Molo (Dragons)
Izack Tago (Panthers)
Jaxson Paulo (Rabbitohs)
Jaydn Su’a (Dragons)
Jazz Tevaga (Warriors)
Josh Aloiai (Sea Eagles)
Josh Schuster (Sea Eagles)
Keenan Palasia (Broncos)
Luciano Leilua (Cowboys)
Martin Taupau (Sea Eagles)
Mathew Feagai (Dragons)
Ronald Volkman (Warriors)
Spencer Leniu (Panthers)
Taylan May (Panthers)
Toafofoa Sipley (Sea Eagles)

Spine options even worse than Tonga's

Staines or Nofoaluma at fullback?
Schuster at 6 or edge? If he is at 6 you can partner with Milf and I think that's probably okay. If he's edge then one of Volkman or CHT is the other half, a half decent game by Volkman this weekend could secure it for himself.
Jazz rounds out the spine at hooker and maybe CHT as bench hooker assuming he doesn't start in halves

They could regain Luai and Stephen Crichton for World Cup which would help

Assuming correct Staggs and Tupou will remain with NSW maybe

  1. Tolotau Koula (Sea Eagles)
  2. Christian Tuipulotu (Sea Eagles)
  3. Siosifa Talakai (Sharks)
  4. Mosese Suli (Dragons)
  5. Sione Katoa (Sharks)
  6. Isaiya Katoa (Panthers)
  7. Talatau Amone (Dragons)
  8. Siosiua Taukieaho (Roosters)
  9. Siliva Havili (Rabbitohs)
  10. Addin Fonua-Blake (Warriors)
  11. Sitili Tupouniua (Roosters)
  12. Keaon Koloamatangi (Rabbitohs)
  13. Jason Taumalolo (Cowboys)
  14. Soni Luke (Panthers)
  15. Haumole Olakau’atu (Sea Eagles)
  16. Tevita Pangai jnr (Bulldogs)
  17. Tevita Tatola (Rabbitohs)
  18. Moeaki Fotuaika (Titans)
  19. Will Penisini (Eels)
  20. Andrew Fifita (Sharks)
  21. Joe Ofahengaue (Wests Tigers)
  22. Starford To’a (Wests Tigers)
  23. Eliesa Katoa (Warriors)
Or To'a in 2 jersey but Tuipulotu has played wing more consistently recently (To'a has always played wing at Newy but barely at Tigers) and also plays left wing so he can play outside Talakai and Sione gets shafted with Suli who also plays left, but I think you move him not Talakai.
Will Penis maybe unlucky but I think he also plays left... actually he could be an option to replace Tupou too, but is more a centre.

Good look at Dolphins half.

That's also a centre pairing who rank 1 and 2 for average meters per game and Katoa and Tuipulotu rank 11 and 12 for meters per game. NZ will be decent too especially with Ronnie but those guys will make a great platform for Tonga to start sets from.

I'd probably say Milford at the back IF he had the match fitness.
Would be interested in seeing how a Volkman/Schuster combo performed togethor.

@burgess1978 any of the Q Cup guys you like the look of?
Most of those Hunters players have been around a few years.

Dan Russell is a white ranga. Has played Q Cup for ages. Goes well at that level. I think was on a Cowboys dev contract at one stage.

Looks like the team list is a bit messed up. Kapinias is a prop and Puara is a hooker. Maybe the 7 is missing, or it could be that Laybutt is supposed to be in there at 6 or 7 rather than 13. I think Liam Horne usually plays hooker, so having him at lock and Laybutt in the halves makes more sense.

Dilbert Issac is another good one for the spelling bee. His name is spelled with one A and two s'es. I reckon 75% of team lists get it wrong.

Could be, that's list as per their Media Release

But also players 17 through 19 haven't been allocated a ' Kumuls #' which suggests you could be right and a name in the 17 is missing (listed 17 actually meant to be listed 18 so wouldn't get a Kumuls #, if he actually was the 17 he should have one
